Is Lomachenko overrated?

Probably is abit overrated, but he is a impressive fighter.

ZERO idea how these two guys come to this conclusion.

Lomachenko is not the better technical fighter than Floyd Mayweather.

No it just Lopez was vastly underrated, and people hate to admit they are wrong so they rather call Lomachenko a fraud than to admit Lopez is the goods.

Loma's a very good fighter who achieved a lot in a short time as a pro but I've always thought he's overhyped by the way he's compared to Duran, Leonard, Pac, Floyd. Some were saying he's better than all of those when he really hadn't done enough to prove that. I see the same thing happening with Fury, there are plenty of people that have said he's the greatest heavyweight of all time and they truly believe it. If he loses/looks like **** against another bum, there will be the same level of confusion and delusion amongst his fans as there is with Loma's fanbase after last night.

Basically, enjoy the fights and the fighters. Time will tell if they belong amongst the ATG's but until then, don't believe the hype and make bold claims based on some flashy sheeeit you saw a fighter do in the ring or you're listening to the commentary/presenters who's job is to hype these guys up. We'd all love to be living in an era of great fighters but trying to force it by ****ting on the legends to prop up the current hype job has to stop.

I don't think Loma is overrated... It's just that Lopez is underrated and inexperienced enough to make people think he can't beat a veteran technician, that aside from his physique (he's a big lightweight)...

He's 14-2 with his best win probably being against Luke Campbell, of course hes overrated. Disgustingly so.

... Loma was never over-rated, over-hyped etc... his problem is that he had no business against top guys at 135, who boil down to make the division...

Sure there was some Top Rank Match making magic , but they do this with all their fighters

Lomas the Goods and a HOF

135 is a weight class he’s maxed out at and has already shown he gives up too much size and is much more susceptible to taking a L and may not even belonged if he had to fight a elite fighter or a young bursting at seems type of fighter . Size Matters

for a little guy he’s getting up there in age and probably has lost a couple miles off his fastball,
I don’t see that many guys that even put up a challenge in 126-130 his more natural weight class

The answer is yes. He was (for now) one of the top p4p fighters around, but was elevated by a few to heights of greatness he hadn't achieved. That's the very definition of "overrated".

It is possible to be overrated while still being one of the bet fighters around. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
