I was one of the biggest Loma fans. If he moves back to 130, I won't watch him again.

I don’t think Loma sold out. I think he was hesitant and started too late. Rounds 7 and up showed that Loma definitely has the skills to beat Lopez with his temp, but he needs to start early in the fight and maintain a high temp throughout.

    This fight deserves a rematch.

IMO there can't be a rematch. Lopez is never going to fight at 135 again and Loma can't follow him up to 142. No rematch!

Teofirmo Lopez ends up a WW; if the timing is right Spence/Garcia/Crawford are his big paydays down the road.

Like the loser in most the recent big fights lately, he did the exact opposite of what he told his fans he would do. Like, if he was purposefully trying to trick his fans out of their money, he couldn't have pulled it off better, acting one way but fighting the complete opposite.

Lomachenko has hurt every single fighter he's been in the ring with in his entire career, including and especially at 135. That's the kind of underrated power he has. But he throws barely any punches the first half of the fight vs Lopez supposedly because of Lopez's power. What about his own power? And now wouldn't you know, the younger, english speaking, American-Hispanic, trash talking Lopez, a boxing promoter's dream, wins all the belts in one night.

Before the fight, everyone said "Lomachenko by decision or TKO, or Lopez by KO." Instead, Lopez wins by decision. How come? Because Lomachenko threw no punches. Yet before the fight, everyone said "Lomachenko is the combination puncher, volume puncher, Lopez is the pot shot counter puncher." Then in the fight, Lomachenko throws career low punches, and Lopez throws, I'm guessing, career high punches against, by far, the best opponent of his career.

Oh and just for the cherry on top, the, who knows, 1000th ranked fighter on the planet, Nakatani, performed equal or better vs Lopez as Lomachenko. "But he's tall tho." Yeah, that totally explains it! If only Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez were tall, they'd be good at boxing! Oops... they're American and Mexican cash cows, so this doesn't apply to them. But for Loma, this is supposed to explain why he and Nakatani are equals at lightweight.

Forget about who you wanted to win... does anyone else get the impression we all just got played?
It wasn't a thrown fight - but the bold is what I keep trying to tell people.

This wasn't Teo winning. It was Loma choosing to lose.

When I say that - I'm saying his team chose a strategy they had to know was not going to work. They CHOSE to fight like that - thus, they CHOSE to lose.

Lol! Still salty. First you claim Crawford didn't beat Horn because of "circumstances" and now Lopez didn't beat Loma because of "circumstances". Your bu!!shyte is pathetic.

How big of a shyte burger are you eating today after creating all of those posts about how easily Loma would win?

loma will bounce back and be in some more good fights because he's a very good fighter, if he has to go to 130 to do this then so be it, u gota do what u gota do, if he feel's he bit off too much to chew then go down, if he can make 130 easy then that's the right move

that's a pretty ridiculous statement. he should try to get the rematch, sure, I agree, i think it's in his best interest. Lopez is very good, but as we saw in the nakatani fight and this one, his power really dives past round 7. In short, the power difference was the difference until the playing field evened out. (I really do think Lopez is great, but two things can be true so for Lopez nuthuggers don't get all emo over some critique)

Is Loma a more natural 130 or 135? I think it's 130, he was much faster there, but that must be just my unfathomable opinion - what the hell does video evidence even mean, ya know? At the end of the day, take Loma out of the equation and ask yourself whether you want your favorite fighter competing in his most natural weight class for his age and build or above/below it - chances are most people would say the former if there is no bias. But otherwise, I agree, Loma can still compete at 135 and there's really not pressure to go down in weight, he has enough skills and tricks to hold his own against anyone at 135.

It was never about the right time? Floyd literally said it was about taking the fight at the right time. Did you forget about that interview? They were swerving loma until he showed decline. If he would have got the decision last night, I bet they’d suddenly be ready to do the fight. Lopez believed in himself, stepped up to the plate and became the unified champion with no excuses about being young or building his brand etc. 23yrs old, 15 fights, and he’s at the top. Davis is fighting featherweights.
