After the Tito match, Vargas was dropped again by Wilfredo Rivera. He took few "safer" fights from that point on until he took on Oscar.

Fernando Vargas was finally back on his feet. His jaw was healed as well, IMO.

Then he takes on Oscar, and IMO, wore his side protectors up to his chest, nullifying Vargas's body attack and Oscar only had to cover up his face because of this. Unfair. I was pissed that the ref didn't force him to readjust his belt! Of course, you all know what happened, Vargas got caught with a left hook.

That fight was just not rightly played because of Oscar's belt being so high. Yeah, I'm Vargas fan. I don't care much for Oscar, though I respect his career. But that **** could have been different if Vargas's body attack had some effect. You all know that Oscar tires out in the later rounds but he didn't against Vargas! Why? coz his body attack was nullified by the rib protectors Oscar had!

****. I'm still pissed at that fight.

I don't think its so much that his skills are shot, but its definately his BACK that is ****ed up. Go watch earlier tape of him, he could move his head by dipping at the waist. Nowadays he can't even bend at the waist making him look like a ****in robot. Remember all that **** about a herniated disc and he needed surgery but he opted for more natural remedies instead? He's like an athlete at the end of the line due to a bad back. Like my uncle said to me: "Once those guys (athletes) get back surgeries its usually the end of the line for them." I guess El Feroz didn't want to be operated on and he pushed his career as far as he could take it with injuries. Peace out Feroz, you gave us a good career, showed a ton of heart, and I've never seen a fighter blend so much machismo with the skills to back it up. To put it simply, you made boxing ****ing exciting, and all your trash talking was the ****.

Also on another note: Look at Vitali Klitshcko, he had a half an hour back surgery on his lower back where they removed a bone spur and look what he does: he up and quits man. Now look at this: he could of ****in ****** it up and fought Rahman and got a career defining KO win, but intstead he quits, and not to call him a ***** but he should of stuck around FOR ONE MORE FIGHT MAN and put his heart and soul into this. Those Europeans man, they're ****in mentality is to hang it up when the going gets tough, just like in the Chris Byrd fight he quit instead of making adjustments, and that guy Muhammed Abdullaev, that's the first time I've ever seen a fighter quit instead of letting the ref stop the fight when he had a swollen eye.

You can't be a boxing fan and not respect him. The beating he took in the 12th of the trinadad fight and kept trying to get up. That fight ruined him physically, pushed too quickly into that fight. Could have been great I believe.

I've always liked him, didn't realize so many people didn't like him till i came on the board. He came to fight everytime. Vargas will always be that dude. He reminds me of some Puerto Ricans i grew up with in the hood who had alot of heart. We all got along. Much respect for Vargas!

I HATE Vargas, can't stand him! But I think Tito cheated his way to a victory and Vargas could have won that when he had Tito hurt! He was an exciting boxer earlier in his career he just never really apealed to me!

But Vargas is a HUGE ******* with all that fake "Aztec Warrior" garbage. He goes to the weigh-in and press conferences all menacing and foaming at the mouth and then gets his ass handed to him in the ring. This happened vs. Tito. Then vs. Oscar. He talked SO MUCH **** before the ODLH fight. And then Oscar KO'd him.

He got legitimately beaten by Shane. Did anyone of you see repeated head butts? Talked **** at the post-fight press conference. So, Shane gets him back in the ring and beats the spit out of him.

According to Atrocious Fernando Vargas, he has never lost: my nutritionist gave me steroids. I ate cereal for a month to make weight. I had dry toast the day of the fight. Yadda yadda. Always an excuse.

Shut the **** up and go away, Fernando. You piece of ****.
                  I agree with you. COMPLETELY.

Vargas is a classic punk/*****. Throughout his career he touted himself as a "real man" or a "man's man", this alpha male, "pure warrior" bull**** when it wasn't justified. Then he beat Campas and Marquez and I thought he may actually have some skill. Which he did, but his biggest victories came against the B level guys of his era. The Ike Quartey's.

Then he somehow decided he was "elite" and stepped up against Tito and got dismantled, same with De La Hoya. That's Vargas. Throughout his career he's talked down about his opponets, whilst trying to pass himself off as something other than what he actually is : A B class guy who got a pass to the main stage thanks to a great PR campaign.

I've never liked Vargas and I probably never will.

I never liked Vargas either but you are being real biased against him. La Colonia rushed his career and put a 20-21 year old fighter against an experienced veteran champ. They should have waited at least a few years to put him in against Tito. I think he would have won if he would have waited two. I think he would have won against Tito when it happened though Vargas got back up and hurt Tito, Tito saw he was in trouble and cheated his way to victory. I saw more balls get grabbed that day then you would see if you probably went to San Francisco's gay pride parade! All and all, I hate the guy for his attitude and wanna be cholo ways. Vargas just never appealed to me and the whole alpha male front was ****** too claiming he was a real mexican and this and that.. He was like the boxer version of VIVAMEXICO!
