Are we seeing the end of American boxing?

And its a far more relevant question now than it was then. There's no Oscar, there's no Floyd, hell there's not even a Shane Mosley
Talking of 2000 you'd have to go back to before then to find the last real American heavyweight champion, in fact you have to go back to Holyfield 23 years ago.
I mean sure there was Wilder as a paper trinket holder, and Ruiz made a second cameo, but they don't really cut it.
I mean that alone would have seemed impossible to comprehend in the 90s, that America would be ran out of the heavyweight division for a quarter of a century? Madness.
And since floyd retired we had canelo, now I guess Fury is following him, nobody is looking to the charlos or Erroll Spence to become the face of boxing.
Vegas is still the mecca of boxing, but it won't be for much longer, site fees that Saudi princes are willing to pay are soon going to make that neck of the woods the new Boxing goldmine.
American boxing needs to start seeing reality, because bluster and acting like it's still in the "good ol days" isn't going to help things, you guys need to up your game because boxing in the US is getting left behind
The NFL and NBA excuse doesn't cut it either, aren't we all BOXING fans, how do you get these young athletes into boxing then, you can't just say "all our best athletes are in the NBA" as some silly argument as to why you aren't dominating. OK, how do we solve that then.
If all that sounds harsh, it's not because I like it, hell I WANT some US superstars to come along on the level of a Tyson or even a Roy Jones.Comment

Slight decline maybe. But 10-15 years ago HW was dominated by Europeans, still is. 147-154 was mostly dominated by US, still is. The main problem is the best fighting each other less often, less stars being created as a result. Also Floyd was such a big name that him being gone left a bit of a void, no American has come through to be the #1 star of the sport sinceComment
Give it up already
