What happened? Why dont we rule pro boxing anymore? We ruled pro boxing for decades. What went wrong? Are we witnessing the end of Boxing in America?

It isn't dying, it just isn't North America vs the UK anymore so there is way more competition. Sorta like how being the best soccer team in the USA is much different from being the best soccer team in the world.

I think it was in decline, but the decline may be ending.

I actually think the decline was happening over the past 20 years, as it became more of a PPV sport, and all the best athletes went toward basketball, football, baseball, and now MMA, but I actually think that in the past few years, it's started to make a little comeback and the NBA & NFL are getting a little stale, which is even reflected in their ratings, and PBC & Top Rank are putting more boxing on regular TV, where young fans can see it and be inspired by it

We don't completely dominate boxing like we used to long ago but we are still a major player with the most world champions of any country.
Where are the American stars though?

              There isn't one.

There's been a drop in interest in America coupled with other countries catching up.

See American fighters used to be leagues above in terms of coaching, nutrition, training facilities, everything, in the UK as an example most of our top fighters had day jobs and nutrition consisted of pints of ale and plates meat and gravy. They weren't elite athletes, now they are.

So yeah it's a combination of americas decline in boxing and other countries improving at the same time.
