When the ref waved him forward he did nod but he seemed to be pretty out of it and not exactly foaming at the mouth

I'm not 100% either way, it looked to me like if the ref said fight on he would have but he also wasn't bothered if the ref did stop it.

I do think he did not belive he could win from that position.
I'm not sure. He was KD'd 4 times and was totally spent. Looks like he didn't even have the energy to answer the ref and like he didn't know where he was. If you're a heavy and you've been knocked down 4 times, is it really quitting? Lol

He got a severe ass whooping. I would say he didn't quit tbh, he was just totally spent. But I cant be sure.

The ref did a good job, and Joshua avoided unnecessary damage.

He was exhausted, decked 4 times, and probably knew there was no way he was going to win or even go the distance. But realising you are going to lose a fight and quitting are not the same thing.

There are plenty of fighters who accept fights knowing, in their heart of hearts, that they have no chance of beating the other guy. Journey men make careers out of doing that. Are they all quitters?

AJ realised it wasn't going to be his night, but he got up off the deck and told the ref he wanted to continue fighting.

"But he spat his gum shield out"

So what? Plenty of guys have spit their gum shields in fights and didn't quit. Plenty of others have quit without spitting their gum shields!

He got his ass handed to him but he didnt quit. I honestly think he was disoriented from the first knockdown on and probably confused with what was happening. He didnt prepare for that kind of response from the little fat boy. A guy in the physical shape of AJ doesnt expect a tubby guy to be able to best them.

Doesn’t matter if he did. He took alot of beating in there. It was wise for him to stop fighting. He was able to get back in the rematch and revive his career.

Who knows how much more he would have lost had he continued fighting. Live to fight another day

He was most likely concussed, and not all with it. He seemed confused and dazed more than anything. I don't think he quit though...

This actually sums it up perfectly. The only logical Fury fan on here to its a rarity since the Wilder win .
