Ennis isn't even a PBC fighter, he just has a deal with Showtime to fight on their network. If he was with PBC he'd probably have an easier time getting better named opponents.

This is my thoughts lack of a contract with a PBC, TR or, Matchroom type promotional outfit is holding him back. I see flaws in his game but at 23 not many considering his lack of big name fighters. Boots has to be flashy and make a statement in every fight in order to push for title contention.

That shouldn't hold him back. F*** all the promoters and networks, a fighter should be able to climb the rankings without them.

It's wrong if he is forced to sign with someone. Free agents should be allowed and encouraged in order to break the stranglehold that certain power brokers like to have on our sport.

I agree wholeheartedly but that's not how it always works and you know it. The sad reality is politics run boxing way beyond talent. It shouldn't be that way but it is.

As fans we can be aware and support free agents like Ennis or like Mikey Garcia when he tried it.

And we can be vocal if promoters try to freeze them out.

To repeat, after reading all the comments: I'm far from sold on this guy. People talked about him as though he's the one. All I saw was flash without substance. Maybe he can be something in a decade or so.

But I’m not sold just yet; I need to see you dominate someone who has come to fight, not over matched in speed, has an offense and defense that work together. If you can then dominate like this; I will be sold! We have yet to see how he responds when being hit or have tuff spots to overcome. I think what he did was suppose to happen with that caliber fighter, who couldn’t match you with anything.
