I think, this is also not a prime Thurman. Prime Thurman ended 2-3 years ago unfortunately. Injuries and inactivity.

He was really good at 25-27 years old.

I feel Thurman would pull it off, but it'd be a war. I think that Keef just has the faster twitch muscles than Miguel. Anything is possible. I bet the odds would be very damn close too.

Slight edge to Cotto. This has the potential to be a classic. I'm thinking it plays out similar to Cotto vs Mosley but with some knock down exchanges and a disputed decision.

I like Thurman but lol @ how people overrate him here.

Cotto comes from a completely different era. As much as fans today want to sell this idea that today's top WW fighters compete in the previous era (Floyd's era), today doesn't compare, at all. It's one of the reasons many of us no longer pay the division the same kind of attention.

Cotto outboxes Thurman to a wide UD. Cotto does everything better than Thurman and would keep Thurman guessing and getting hit. Thurman isn't some defensive phenom, he will get tagged all day if he tries to be really aggressive and attempt to bully Cotto. Cotto can weather the early storm and put his punches together and outwork and outbox a lower ring IQ and less stamina having Thurman. Cottos experience is significantly higher as well and that would also be a big factor. Cotto was an elite fighter in an incredibly deep and competitive division. Thurman is an elite fighter in a shallow division that the media desperately wants to spin as some deep gauntlet of talent but I see through the BS.

Cotto, the Shane Mosley that Cotto beat in 2006 is a better fighter than any version of Thurman, and they fight a similar-ish style although Shane is more versatile, faster, and punches a bit better.

I think Cotto hurts Thurman a few times and that will make the difference on the cards. Thurman will have some moments, but I've got 7-5 Cotto.

Reallly good fight an can go down as an underrated classic!

I’m going with Thurman by split decision in a fight where both men get dropped and have their moments!

It’s a fight where do you like Cotto’s jab and body attack or Thurman’s in an out counters and hooks off the guard!

Not an easy fight for either man I can tell you that much!

As much as I love Manny I've always thought that he was on something when he fought Cotto. His speed and power were almost superhuman that night. And remember this is a small guy who entered the ring at 147. Something was off.

Manny couldn't stop Thurman. He did drop both of them, But Cotto was more hurt than Thurman.
Cotto was relentless in the first half against Manny, which resulted in him getting knockdown twice. Manny was just a monster fighting at a backfoot. Thurman is easily the smarter fighter.

Thurman will win against Cotto by decision
