The timeframe is nothing to do with Whyte. The timeframe is a requirement of the champion. The WBC has said the winner will be free from mandatories for at least a year (not that the WBC ever call proper mandatories).

On those comments, have they named Wilder as a mandatory defence for Fury?

Why would Fury get another year mandatory free?

The WBC is obviously not a true ranking status it's simply what they think they can get away with to the highest bidder. Jose Sulaiman (the late old man) was equally as bad with his below the table relationship with 'Honest Don' King.
Suliaman jr. is obviously trying to avoid any sanctioning fees not be made should Tyson v Joshua become a reality.

There was no glove issue, just sour g****s from Rivas's team because their great HW hope turned out to be not quite as good as they thought he was.

Whyte is a fool, leave the fight even if you beat him it dont mean nothing apart you avenge your loss. He will need to beat Dubois, and another top fighter to even get number 1 slot. Whyte dont want no part of Dubois

I thought this was a more serious boxing rag?
DanRaphael saying Whyte was mando for a 1000 day's is complete bs. Does he work for matchroom? It ruins any credibility for the rest of the story, especially as Whytes nothing but a hot pissing illegal glove wearing duck.
Did he deserve a shot above other mandos like Pulev & Usyk? Absolutely he did.
But we knew immediately after the 41 year old Pov knocked Whyte tf out that the mandatory didn't pass on & the rematch hasn't been mandated.
I really hope the wbc puts Hearn & Whyte back in line. Reinstate February date ffs. Gtfoh!

The new interim champion should fight the final eliminator for the mandatory position. That would give us a competitive fight and the chance to see AJ-Fury/Wilder if that ever happens.

Ideally, that fight would be Whyte/Povetkin vs Ruiz/Ortiz/Dubois to determine final eliminator.
