My confidence in Joshua has gone down drastically

There was a brief moment (or two) in the Ruiz rematch where AJ stood toe-to-toe and exchanged. When he did that, Andy came back with some heat because fat or not, he still has the faster hands and Joshua smartly got back on his bike. Exchanging at close range was Ruiz' only chance of winning so why would AJ or any other fighter comply with their opponent's wishes? To prove a point?Everyone here knows I basically introduced AJ to this forum when he was ABA champion.
He lived up to my expectations for a long time and then some, but I feel like his last two performances were horrible. But it wasn't like it was new..
He didn't look good against Takam or Parker either, and whilst the Povetkin fight was a decent one, even that wasn't without troubles.
At first I looked past it, but I've begun to see a pattern.
Seeing him run around from the fat mexican still is a bit embarrassing imo. Despite him needing to do whatever he needed to do.
Just a bit comical to see such a big guy afraid of exchanging with a small chubby guy.
Where's your confidence in AJ currently?
AJ would have been crucified if he had gotten buzzed in an exchange yet again and we would have called him ******.
So he decides to stick and move against a guy who's built like a sumo wrestler because it's a boxing match, not a tough-man contest.
Either way he got the win he desperately needed and nothing will change that.Comment

I'm confident in Anthony Joshua going forward because he has the presence of mind to get on his bike if his opponent has faster hands during exchanges in close.Everyone here knows I basically introduced AJ to this forum when he was ABA champion.

Watch the rematch again, whenever Ruiz clipped AJ with a good shot, Joshua panics and starts flailing with his arms, desperately trying to hold on to Ruiz. It's like AJ gets flashbacks from the first fight.
Edit: Dude, Fury just beat the best twice in Wilder (first fight was a robbery, Fury deserved the W) and the decades long, reigning champ Wlad Klit.Last edited by HandsofIron; 09-04-2020, 12:11 PM.Comment

How is a decision more impressive than brutally KOing the guy who KOd you?
ffs you're thick my man.
any way, back to the conspiracies for you.Comment

Fury didn't '****' and if you think he did, YDKSAB.
Also, Fury took it to the most dangerous guy in the division, supposedly. AJ ran from a guy who recently was ranked outside the top 10 and largely forgotten.
I'm sure you can see the difference.Comment

I agree. As I said in the OP he did what he needed to do, but I just wasn't impressed by it.There was a brief moment (or two) in the Ruiz rematch where AJ stood toe-to-toe and exchanged. He didn't assert himself at any point in the fight. Everyone watching that fight prayed AJ didn't get touched because we knew he'd be stiffed.
That's why my confidence has gone down so much. he looked incredible weak and fragile. comparing it to the universal soldier who smashed klitschko.. like night and day.Comment
