good, he was probably gonna fight an overmatched opponent anyways
Canelo May Not Fight in 2020?

Who is genuinely surprised at this?
While Canelo doesn't want a paycut, these guys aren't fighting Canelo for peanuts equally. But it also goes to show fighting Canelo isn't really the same thing as people rushing to fight Manny or Floyd at their peaks which brought in massive PPVs (not even counting gate).
If I'm fighting someone with Canelo's clout I'd actually like people to watch let alone know where to tune in.Comment

Yeah DAZN is tripping if they doesn’t consider Jacobs and Kovalev premier opponents. If they only want fights that will significantly move the needle, then there’s only GGG. They screwed themselves over. This issue is you gave this man a 10 fight deal yet were only interested in ONE fight? Like there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Jacobs and Kovalev fights. Again, those fights won him FOTY. And those two have solid names. Even if the GGG trilogy happened, then what? What were there plans after that?Comment

‘To date, Team Canelo has never reviewed Golden Boy’s contract with DAZN; attempts by the fighter’s side to obtain a copy have been stonewalled.’ pic.twitter.com/TzFbGErKx1

Huh?
That's Golden Boy's deal with DAZN which is separate from Canelo's deal with DAZN. He wouldn't be entitled to see that without legal actionLast edited by Jab Jab Hook; 09-02-2020, 02:16 PM.Comment

Here he talks about Canelo's deal
After Canelo signed a 10-fight deal with DAZN that guaranteed $35 million per bout, those doling out the money envisioned high-profile events that would move the needle for potential subscribers. Instead, sources said, senior officials at DAZN are underwhelmed by the matchups Golden Boy has delivered for the Mexican star.
Here he calls Golden Boy's deal a separate deal
Golden Boy’s own five-year deal with DAZN calls for a minimum of five events annually (maximum of 10) excluding Canelo. Included in the rights deal — DAZN pays Golden Boy approximately $17.5 million per year for those non-Canelo bouts — is language that governs whom Alvarez will face.Comment

"Canelo doesn’t have his own contract with DAZN, sources tell The Athletic, but is part of Golden Boy’s pact with the platform." From todays Coppinger story. Here he talks about Canelo's deal

The problem though is the Ali Act gives Canelos management the right to look at the books and he recently hired one of the top labor lawyers in CA. This really does not make sense but then DAZN and GBP are beyond amateur hour.Comment

Chava from Espn is reporting that Canelo wouldn’t accept a 50% pay cut but he willing to accept approximately 30% pay cut either vs Smith or Bjs.

Sidenote: this tells me he really doesn’t wanna sit out the year n it might mean he goes to the UK since they expect fans soon. 🤔 pic.twitter.com/HvHQeZwPuH
Nelo would take 30%. DAZN should just take that and stop making their company look like a sinking ship. **** is embarrassing.Comment

Shame you don't want to waste this time in your life of course Canelo's had so many fights already against big names he's still only 30. Can't see him fighting until late 30's maybe a few more years?Comment
