There are 6 active fighters between 160 and HW that have fought on PPV. Canelo himself, Chavez, GGG, Jacobs, Lemieux and Kov. He fought 2 of the 5 he could fight last year but they are not "Premium" Good luck with that. Or how GGG PPV without Canelo did 150k and 170k not much different then Kov PPV numbers.

So not sure how DAZN will be able to argue that GGG is premier but Kov or Jacobs is not. Kov is also an Alphabet Champ, still ranked in the top 3 in the division by pretty much every organization, was at the top of P4P lists less than 2 years earlier then the fight. Similar with Jacobs who was the consensus 3rd best middle weight.
Forget DAZN...Canelo might have a case against GBP when it comes to Violating The Ali Act! Sounds like they're forcing him into this deal without including him in Negotiation. On top of not showing him the contract. Sounds like GBP made promises to DAZN without even telling Canelo that they promised a 3rd fight with GGG even after he said he won't fight GGG again

      this is a Mess

That's the problem here. Seems like it is GGG trilogy or bust for them. But then what? What happens after that fight? Who around those weight classes would be considered premiere?
That’s entirely the problem. DAZN has been banking on the GGG trilogy since the day the contract was signed. And they fúcked up by not getting commitment from Canelo directly and taking golden boys word for it.

This. Also what is odd and just insane if reported correctly is GBP keeping the contract from Canelo's management, Canelo's management it entitled to this via the Ali Act. It is such a dumb thing to try to hide when the second Canelo's team decides to go to court they will be granted this. This alone can get him out of the deal.

This issue is you gave this man a 10 fight deal yet were only interested in ONE fight? Like there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Jacobs and Kovalev fights. Again, those fights won him FOTY. And those two have solid names. Even if the GGG trilogy happened, then what? What were there plans after that?

You say GGG is the only premier opponent Canelo could face?

Canelo is very wealthy and could easily give Smith or Saunders a bit more money and make a fight with one of them if he wanted to. If he doesn't fight this year it is no big deal to me. Lots of other excellent fights involving exciting boxers are happening this year or early next year. Forget about Canelo ever fighting at 160 again. He can't make 160 comfortably anymore and he won't try to do so.
