This is one of the only fights I wouldn't mind getting in the way of Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua. Oleksandr Usyk may be the unfashionable option, but I believe he has everything needed to soundly defeat Joshua. Fury vs. Usyk for all the marbles would be the best pure boxing Heavyweight contest in memory.

Eddie Hearns has been prattling on for years about how him and Anthony Joshua have one goal, to unify all of the belts. They have used this as an excuse to avoid Deontay Wilder, and have been trying to use it against Tyson Fury. Would be comical after all that has been said if AJ then drops a belt rather than fight his mandatory. What hypocrites they would be. There are literally hours of interviews of AJ and Hearns on YouTube, talking about how important it is to them to monopolise all of the alphabet titles. Let's see what happens. I'd like to see their nuthuggers trying to explain such a cowardly move away.Comment

Agreed. All this "hur hur Matchroom FC paid posters" **** over anything regarding Hearn or Joshua is pretty tiresome. The ****ing nutcases crying about Matchroom shills outnumber actual Matchroom shills 1000 to 1.What is wrong with you people? You spout this crap like it's gospel but it doesn't have a grain of truth in it.
You may as well just say "I hate Eddie Hearne and everything he stands for. Whatever you can think of that is bad, Eddie Hearne did it."
Just post that statement every time you see Hearne's name posted anywhere. It's quicker and equally ****** as your current nonsense you're peddling.Comment

I have lost a LOT of belief in Joshua but I've just got this strong su****ion he would have a relatively easy night against Usyk. I've examined Usyk and he's not that hard to hit, even against guys with slower handspeed than Joshua, and he needs accumulation over multiple rounds to do damage, again to smaller guys than AJ. He will get hit by Joshua and I don't think he will like it at all when he is. In spite of all of AJ's flaws (and there's plenty) everyone he hits he does hurt, often very badly. This is one of the only fights I wouldn't mind getting in the way of Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua. I see this fight ending in a ko either way and I don't see Usyk getting rid of AJ before AJ gets rid of him. If Usyk could dance and negate, I'd give him more chance but that's never been his game and it won't start now imo.
It's a shame because Usyk was a great cruiser but his style isn't made for the super heavyweights we have today.Last edited by Earl-Hickey; 09-01-2020, 06:37 AM.Comment

Joshua's activity level is the problem. I get that corona has stalled this year but there is no reason for him not to be out again March/April for Usyk, then fight Fury around August.
I have no problem with that mandatory, it's a good fight and if Joshua fights with a 4 month break instead of the 6-9 months he's been doing for years, then it isn't a problem.
You want to hold 3 belts, fight more often to clear those mando's so it can't be an excuse.Comment

Chisora v Usyk should be put on the same card as the weak mandatory fight that Joshua has.Make that card appealing Eddie. If Chisora destroys Usyk in style or vice versa it gives Eddie a descent showcase fight should Joshua as expected do the business.Comment

Think about what you just wrote there for a minute. What's the point of having a cash cow if you're not willing to cash him out when the time comes?Presuming Aj & Usyk win Aj won't drop a belt to see who's the best. He defines himself by paper belts.
So Aj will fight Pulev then Usyk & if he gets through those he'll have a voluntary. Because by then Whyte if he wins will be ready again for his mandatory with Fury blocking undesputed once again just like they suggested with Wilder in 18. Like they just tried until Pov knocked Eddie's pawn tf out.
Eddie Hearn manipulation & marrination protecting his cash cow 1on1
If they beat Pulev, AJ and Hearn will have to chose between the biggest fight in world boxing ... or risking everything in another fight that won't make them anywhere near as much cash.
If a fight with Fury is on the table after December, and Usyk won't step aside, look for AJ to relinquish the WBO title.Comment

Be honest ... you'd like it just as much to see them trying to justify fighting Usyk instead of Fury.

It would be win/win for you. You could crucify AJ/Hearn as cowards and hypocrites whichever option they chose!Comment

We know Fury and AJ have agreed a rematch clause, and Usyk is already 33 years old. If I was him I would go for the first title shot I could get, against whoever. If he agreed to sit out 2 Fury/AJ fights, and Fury ends up with the titles, which is the most likely outcome, I doubt Tyson would be interested in fighting him anyway. The WBO belt wouldn't mean **** to Fury.Comment
