Note sure that will suit Povetkin.
At this stage, Povetkin might need a bit of rest before going back into camp. Moreover, a 3-month gap before going into camp means Whyte would gain weight and will then have to loose it again. Povetkin is always in shape. So, Povetkin should be targeting February.

November is way to soon. Shyte should take a solid 30 days of rest with no training of any kind.
Greedy Hearn is just trying to regain that mandatory spot as soon as possible.

Does the mandatory position keeps moving around like a football or will the #1 ranked boxer have to fight the #2 (or whoever is willing/available) to re-establish the mandatory position. I guess Mauricio and the board will have to decide but no way they will enforce that before Fury-vs-AJ if those two are ready.
I would like the winner of Whyte-Povetkin to fight either Andy Ruiz Jr or Dubois for that mandatory position which should be enforced in early 2022 if AJ and Fury fight back to back in 2021.

Why should Whyte have one for a mandatory slot ? There's some fast Eddie BS going on here.
It should be next in line on the rankings to challenge Povetkin for the mandatory position unless he wants to wait it out for the shot at whoever is left standing after Pulev, Wilder and Usyk.
Whyte should get shuffled to the back of the pack after such a humiliating loss and earn his way back to the top, like Parker is.
Fast Eddie giving whyte a free ride back to relevancy makes a mockery of rankings and mandatory slots.
Imagine if he does this for Usyk should he lose to Chisora ?
In that scenario, an unproven heavyweight by way of a champion stepping up a division gets 2 bites at a mandatory position he never earnt in the first place as a legit heavy ?
A promoter enforcing a rematch for a mandatory is a slippery precedent to set and really needs to be in the governing body's jurisdiction to authorize, not the promoters!
I'd like to see team Povetkin challenge the rematch clause...
