  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Wants Whyte-Povetkin II To Happen in Late November, Explains Why

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Dillian Whyte says he plans to get back in training in two weeks' time and hopes to have a rematch against Alexander Povetkin before the end of the year. Speaking to Sky Sports News the morning after the Russian flattened him in the fifth round to end his immediate world-title ambitions, said he made a "silly mistake" and says he believes "one million percent" that he will win a rematch.

Would he be cleared medically to be able to fight in November doe? Currently his licence would be suspended. He suffered a heavy KO. Head bouncing off the canvas. He would need to spar, train etc For November that would be impossible.

Seems like a short turnaround for both guys with Povetkin being old and Whyte having just been blown out. Of course, as a spectator I'd be happy to see a repeat so soon.

Because he's got a rematch clause?

Why would he push a rematch when your fighter wins?

I mean, do you think before you write this crap?

You have to love Eddeh. He always tells in advance what his plans are so that Sulaimoney's got enough time to screw him.

Eddie talks rubbish time slot too tight and his major concern being to push for a mandatory title fight which no one wants to see

Povetkin is very experienced and will know how his body reacts to training. At his age, I'd be surprised if he agreed to such a quick turnaround.

Whyte and Hearn need to be careful what they wish for.

Povetkin will knock Whyte out again, probably sooner this time.

Rushing the fight to push a mandatory fight with fury.
No way. Let’s get Joshua vs fury early next year.

Povetkin will need time to rest. And Whyte is doing himself no favours resuming training so soon after being knocked cold
