They complain when you pick a weak opponent, they still complain when you pick a strong opponent.
Povetkin/whyte kind of match up is what we need in boxing, a real challenge and should be encouraged.
Whyte was in a strong position for a mandatory title fight but he risked it on the line to take a dangerous fight. He could have stayed idle and wait for his shot but the man is a warrior, he wants all the big names he can get, either win or loose.
We should encourage him to encourage others instead of slamming him on the face.

Povetkin-Whyte was the first major fight since COVID began, and it delivered BIG.

Whyte was in shape and focused. He was in the lead before the KO. And he got caught with a punch setup that explored his technical flaw.

Didn't see the fight, but from what I read, Whyte was easily winning the fight, then got caught! He should win the rematch! He looked like he was in pretty good shape too! So I don't think he was overlooking Povetkin, but that happens sometimes when you think you've got your opponent in trouble, i.e. Pacquiao vs. Marquez, and Joshua vs. Ruiz!
