With wins over Klitschko and wilder. Fury has the best resume in the heavyweight division.
Whyte struggled with plenty of competition and gets knocked cold against Povetkin.
Sorry mate. I’m just here to rub salt in your wound because you’re being a little bi+ch and not taking the loss like a man.
You’re trying to divert the focus.
Whyte talked it up, and got knocked cold. It wasn’t the first, it won’t be the last.
It’s like people forgot how fury treated chisora in the rematch. Absolutely obliterated him. Meantime years later Whyte goes life and death with him twice.
And I’d love to have someone fact check.. but didn’t Whyte get popped for a positive drug test against Rivas (which got hushed down and swept under the rug)
So don’t throw stones in a glass house
Let's fact check then.
Fury is a
1. Proven nandrolone steroid cheat
2. Never defended a belt
3. Only fought 2 guys in the current top 33
4. Kisses grown men in the ring
5. Turned down the AJ fight, to go and fight Wilder
6. Was trying to avoid his one mandatory Whyte up until Whyte go KOed this weekend
7. Has never been on a PPV over a million
8. Has never filled an arena or stadium
9. Lied about donating his entire fight purse to charity from the 1st Wilder fight
10. Has an Instagram where he talks smack, but blocks people from responding to him (who does that?)
I could go on and on, but in a nutshell Fury is a steroid cheating con man who is overrated and set to be KOed bigtime within the next year or so. He has conned the public into believing he has mental health issues and depression so that they look away from him being a steroids cheat.
Povetkin-Whyte was the first major fight since COVID began, and it delivered BIG.
Whyte was in shape and focused. He was in the lead before the KO. And he got caught with a punch setup that explored his technical flaw.
Why ***** on Whyte? He took a risk and delivered entertainment. He is not making silly excuses. If we discourage Whyte then all we get is mismatches and boring safety first fights.
Big thanks to Whyte, and good luck to him in the rematch.
Exactly my point. We should encourage even matchups, its good for boxing.
No need to talk the man down, he had a good fight, one minute of lack of concentration, you find yourself on your canvas. That's the beauty of HW and that's why its different from the rest.
I neither like or dislike Whyte but I do think he receives alot of undue vitriol. He talks alot of trash, he's won some controversial, he's struggled in some of his wins and he's popped positive for PEDs. Vast majority of the top HWs are guilty of one or all of these transgressions.
The guy has fought alot of top quality and won most of those (albeit with some controversy sprinkled on), the fact he was willing to take on AJ, Parker, Rivas and Povetkin is impressive. Even his second tier victories (Chisora, Helenius, Wach and Browne) matchup well against other fighters best wins.
Bob talking about Whyte in the same breath as hyping Pulev is laughable. Kubrat's best wins are Chisora, Hughie Fury and Tony Thompson.
Again, I'm not really a fan of Whyte but some perspective is needed when we are being critical of a fighter. And I'm not sure Whyte was really overlooking Povetkin, he looked fit and sharp in the ring. He was fighting a guy who is still cagey as ever and fell into a trap and got sparked out (and it very well may happen again in the rematch). It's that simple.
Pfft. Please.
What’s to explain? Would you prefer he have wins over Lucas Browne and Rivas ?
Or killers like mariusz wach ?
Not to mention struggling to seal the deal with Derek chisora.
Remember, fury ended klitschkos unbeaten streak. And wilders unbeaten streak. And those two wins Place him right up the top.
Joshua took the sloppy seconds, and hit the deck and almost got stopped against Klitschko.
And then got stopped by Ruiz and had a boring (but effective) rematch against Ruiz.
Fury is the divisions clear number one. And Whyte wasn’t even the divisions clear number four.
As I expected; you can’t rationalise your opinion with facts. Joshua has the clear better resume. Fury had Klitschko, so does Joshua. The way a fight was won has no bearing on the validity of a resume. They both have Klit.
Wilder is the only other name on Fury’s resume who is rated as one of the worst HW’s to have been a Champion. So what does that do to Fury’s credibility that he DREW with him!? Even Fury says Wilder is a dog mess champion, he targeted Wilder because he knows (from when Joshua was an amateur) that it’s the easier route to getting back on the scene. Fury is only #1 because he’s unbeaten. You can give as much credibility to Fury’s position as #1 as Joshua’s win over Ruiz because Ruiz was #1 when Joshua beat him. Go figure.
All the fighters you listed are who Dillian Whyte has fought, not Joshua.

So, like I said; nonsense.
Joshua won his first title vs. the immortal Charles Martin. Let's stop acting like Anthony has fought a Murderer's Row.
