Let's not fool anyone here. Whyte has had multiple opportunities to a title shot and dumped them all whether it was Joshua or Wilder. He refused to go to the champ and was deluded that they will come to him. He turned down the AJ fight which was straight forward. He refused Ortiz which would have led to Wilder. He chose to remain a British level fighter.

I still think he can beat current Povetkin but would struggle against the likes of Dubois or even Joyce. It would be a long way back to getting a title shot but this time he should diversify his paths and not restrict himself to only the WBC. Also, he would do himself and his career a favor if he fights a few big fights overseas (if/when Covid permits).

Deotay Wilder, Tyson Fury, Luis Ortiz, Adam Kownacki to name a few.

Atleast it worked out for Fury.

(A lot of guys also seem to be forget saying AJ was lowballing Whyte and shouldn't take the fight when it suited their agenda, now Whytes the coward)

Hard to criticise the route he took when, ultimately, he got to the mandatory position he was chasing.

And, in my opinion, he wanted Wilder, and was convinced he could beat him. Grab his belt, make lots of money, then make more in an undisputed fight that is 'in house' and easier to make.

That's backing yourself and credit to him for that. He just backed himself one too many times - in hindsight, he knows he shouldn't have fought Povetkin.

I think he'll beat him in the rematch though. That fight didn't show he's no good. At least not the version I watched (which seemingly was a different one to most NSB posters).

As for the cowardly stuff...Wilder and Fury both said they would rather give the belt back so yes, they both ducked Whyte.
haha you’re delusional Whyte has ducked numerous title opportunities with wilder as well. Whyte has ducked so many fights the only reason he gets a pass is because he’s british

Doesn’t matter what he offered. They already fought and he knocked Whyte out. I’m angry with the wbc. They played Whyte and protected wilder. He was wilder’s mandatory for FIVE years.

Ortiz, Ruiz and Wilder avoided Whyte . Rewriting history is fine but the facts are the only one that has actually been avoided in the division is AJ who also had Whyte avoiding him . Ruiz didn’t even want the rematch he had to be threatened with legal action . Ha

5 years? Have you been drinking?

It's a shame the fight never happened, Wilder would put him to sleep earlier than old man Povetkin did.
