After all this time, I'm still really not sure how good Ortiz is. Povetkin has been a top 5 HW for over a decade now, so I'll go with him. There was a time where I thought Ortiz was probably the best HW on the planet, but that probably wasn't the case, hard to tell with his opposition though in comparison to Povetkin and he's come up short in his 2 fights at the top

We'll never know until they fight.

Povetkin is the faster guy but Ortiz is also a seasoned fighter. Unlike Whyte, Ortiz in my opinion would have pressed on the gas pedal in the fourth round. He is also more disciplined than Whyte to follow the game plan and has a tighter guard. Screw the rematch, I would like Povetkin vs Ortiz next.

Povetkin is more accomplished but I give Ortiz the edge in a fight. Both are top guys, high ring IQ, great fundamentals, high ring IQ fighters. Would be a chess match.

Povetkin by a long shot... look at their resumes and look at their achievements.

Besides losing to Wilder... what did Ortiz accomplish?

            Povetkin.

            Ortiz' career is built off:

            1. His Amateur career. But Povetkin's was better.
            2. A gallant loss to a champion. But Povetkin's was better. He went the distance against a better champion.

So you don't even need to go into Povetkin's resume, which is much deeper with a better best win.

Ortiz would give this version of Povetkin a boxing lesson imo.

Both looked more impressive when on roids but Povetkin seems capable of good performances (for an old guy) without it. Ortiz can still hurt someone who comes at him but when having to actually move around the ring it's like watching a fight in slow-motion

They both gas out early, so it wouldn`t last long. If Povetkin didn`t pull out that uppercut from nothing, he would have lost to Whyte by stoppage.

                  I see it as 50 -50 fight.

Povetkin has a FAR better resume, accomplishments, amateur career and pedigree. Povetkin KOs ortiz also.
