Tyson, is what i call a slick swarmer. He used the peek a boo stance to get in and out by pivoting and unleashing 3 and 4 punch combos with great handspeed. He was not a mauler like Porter. Way more skilled even though i think Porter could fight like this and would be better instead of just wailing in and rough housing.

But definitely not a counter puncher. He may have wanted to be a counter puncher, but he was not and did not even possess the frame or reach to be one effectively, really. He swarmed and annihilated and was very, very good at it. I personally think his athletic ability had more to do with his success more so than his mind in the ring. He was extremely fast , hand and foot and had unnatural power for his height/size. Very effective fighting for the time.
So, what's your point? You think one counter makes a fighters style completely different? Was Wlad Klitschko a brawler because he went to war with AJ? Nope.
Counter punchers do not move forward, bobbing and weaving to avoid punches. This is not up for a real discussion for those who know boxing.
