If female boxing is in its infancy then what does that make female mma then? Seriously. Which sport has the better highlights for females? More knockouts? Which sport do the females show a closer level of skill and power to the men? Which has made stars? Female boxing is way less scary looking than female mma. Females are tough as hell and can get bloodied and keep going. But KOs sell. If anything the gloves need to be much smaller than they are in woman’s boxing now. So they can be faster hands and hit harder. The girls want to make the money the men make, they need to generate the same excitement. That means something has to be tweaked to improve the power and KOs. If it was all relative then their would be a bunch of first round KOs in the sport.
I still don't care for female boxing

No offense taken here, bro.
We are all into different things. I haven't followed heavyweight boxing since Lewis, and I purposely ignore them. I feel the same about that division as you do about all women's boxing.
To each their own.Comment

Maybe you missed the point I made about fundamentals. These girls in MMA have likely been taking Judo / Karate classes since they were 5 years old. So by the time they reach the age of turning pro in MMA, they're probably studying something more offensive like jujitsu, however their fundamentals have 15 years of training. The vast majority of women in boxing, pick it up very late. That was also the point I was making about guys in bar fights being clueless and still not being great after 2 years of training them. Female MMA is in its infancy, but women learning to kick and fight from young ages, is not. Females going to a boxing gym as a kid, is very rare.If female boxing is in its infancy then what does that make female mma then? Seriously. Which sport has the better highlights for females? Of course there are standouts (AJ and Wilder started boxing very late) but generally speaking, it's the fundamentals that stop boxers looking white collar.Comment

I just looked at Taylor. And while she is good, she is still fighting like an amateur. Throwing quick shots over powerful shots. And who is this champion at 43-1 that she is fighting here. She still looks like an amateur, an inexperienced amateur. Once Katie had to get down and fight I saw many flaws in her armor though. Having said that, she has been the best womans fighter that I have seen recently. Who else should I see? ………..Rockin'

Hey man, that’s cool!
Won’t stop me from watching women’s boxing, they’ve put on some really great fights the last couple of years!
Just need 3 min/12 rounds and they would be set, plus pay them a bit more!Comment

If one likes women's boxing, I imagine they would like watching just about any 2 people box...it could be 2 15 year old kids in their first official fight and they would probably tune in and watch...because the truth is the skill level and athleticism/level shown by pro women is about the same as your average good athlete boy going through puberty, 13-15 years old or so.
Most men who like watching women's sports do so because they find the women hot. Women getting beat up is not really considered hot by most men. Also the outfit/physique/punched or bloodied face of women in a fight are not attractive to most men.
MMA and boxing are aided in a huge way, just like tennis, by having their events run concurrent with the men's events. That helps them get the casual 'I like boxing/fighting so I'll watch this match too' viewer, and there are a decent number of those.
If any pro women's sport had to survive on its own, sustaining itself only by the money it generated, there would be no market for it. You would have empty stadiums and terrible ratings. Again, mainly because the talent level is comparable to early HS boys, and no one wants to watch those sporting events on TV, or wants to really attend them in person (unless it's your kid etc).Comment

Dude ur not a puss or anything u just have people to be responsible for and love more than life itself. My brother reminds me that after kids/today u don’t call them “beaters” anymore but “tank tops”. Times change. I am so with you, any true boxing fan yells “stop the fight” whenever they see things get out of hand. Fans don’t like to see anyone take liberties. I’d rather lean to early stoppages than ones that go on too long. It’s that last unnecessary punch that really hurts a guy. They have kids too.I desire 0 woke points, just providing a counter opinion. Nor did I gather that he didn't want women to have more air time but I guess that's on me for not making that obvious assumption. But you're right about just being overly sensitive about it ins't going to help women's boxing get any better. Though crapping all over it is probably even less helpful.
I would like to see the same amount of rounds and round length for championship fights and 10x3 for lesser fights, yes. I think it would help. but not a catch all or anything.
It's a young sport still in comparison to the men's side and the biggest problem is the lack of talent pool, in my opinion. There's like 1 or 2 good women per weight class and they rarely seem to collide. Usually it's 'elite' vs some house wife going through her boxfit phase or whatever. Then yes, they can't even get the poor gal outta there and decision them so you have valid points that I can appreciate.
I suppose my original intent was that women's boxing has a lot of flaws even though I enjoy it so he could have elaborated more.
As for watching a highly likely 12 round decision outcome fight. If it's a good fight it's a good fight. If there's action and some back and forth it'll keep my attention as long as it competitive. Here are there maybe I'll see 2 overly defensive guys matched up and get that "groaner" feeling but usually it's horrendous mismatches with a few good fights sprinkled in. Honestly ever since watching Patrick Day get KO'd horrifically live and never wake up I haven't been as hyped to watch knock outs. I'm that guy yelling "stop the fight!" at the TV while everyone else is screaming for blood. Guess I became a bigtime puss after having children.Comment
Maybe he'll be lucky and they'll make him a martyr
