I'm not saying Loma isn't good but great he's not. Beating Lopez would be good, but nothing great, either. More work ahead of him with very little time.

Saw them both live at MSG on the same card.Lopez is 'lively' and a terrific fighter but Lomo is the acid test.
Lomo by late round stoppage ,after maybe having to get off the deck to win.
These are the match ups boxing needs!

"At issue had been the offer of $1.25 million to Lopez out of approximately $4.7 million available to be split between the fighters for a fight that probably would have generated millions in gate revenue. But without spectators allowed to buy tickets it was more difficult to work out the money. In the end, Lopez will get closer to $2 million with Lomachenko said to have been willing to give up a piece of his purse to help get the deal done."

That's wassup! As the elders say "closed mouth won't get fed!"

Don’t blame the fighters because “fans” are a bunch of emotional children who are as dumb as rocks. Nobody with common sense decided to get on an emotional roller coaster based on the negotiations and the rumors flying around.

No, he has realized that he has no other viable options. ESPN probably laughed at that verdejo BS when arum went back to them after lopez refused their supposedly “take it or leave it, final offer”. Loma wouldn’t have gotten 3m to fight verdejo or some other nobody, and probably not even 2m. Most people here judged this thing from a loma-fanboy perspective and they couldn’t see that loma needs this fight probably more than lopez. If the fight fell through it was a big L for loma and top rank.

Even at Davis' 9th pro fight, he's fighting guys like this: German Meraz, 47-31-1. Thirty-one losses. That's how good Davis and his management thought he was. Not at his second pro fight but his ninth! It wouldn't be until 20 fights later that he'd win a world title.

Honestly, Loma beating Lopez would be a greater achievement than beating Tank Davis.
What a straight up clown that it takes to stand by a post such as this.(I LITERALLY have no dog in this fight) BUT your post just made anyone who listens to it that much ******er, May God Have mercy on your soul. You are comparing davis 1st few pro fights to Loma as if Loma wasn't already several yrs older & in his prime when he went pro,to top it off he already had fought semi pro before his pro career which is why your post is the ******est I've read all yr,& around these parts thats saying something (maybe someone else can chime in about how rediculous what you said was)

On a forum that’s basically the toilet bowl of boxing fans, I think it’s been proven time and time again, you are on the Mount Rushmore. Well done, I suppose.
