Vergil Ortiz Jr. is going to be a Pound For Pound in the future and he have 22 years old already and in the conversations in the welterweight division, soon to fight a former champ or another title challenger. As a Boricua, I recognize Vergil Ortiz Jr. soon to be elite. Remember that lesson well.
    Right on Hermano.

Unfortunately a lot of us Latinos don’t think like that we love to hate on each other and knock each other down.

They need to wake the fucck up.

Sometimes Ortiz got too excited and swung for the fences

      But he adjusted

Also, Vargas took the Spence fight short notice and the stoppage was pretty fast

      • Ortiz has speed, power, defense and overall ring awareness. He’s the best of the current crop to my eyes and he looked sharp last night.

        • This Ass-hole Jack Reiss, wants to be the new Joe Cortez. Always doing something to ruin fights or stop the momentum of the aggressor.

Don't feed that troll, the moment everyone in here starts ignoring him, that moment he will start posting intelligent and coherent stuff.

There are some guys who are just desperate for attention.

Talking boxing why do you think he is overrated? I mean don't disrespect to you I think this is the first time I reply to a comment from you but even Errol Spence has stated publicly that he likes what Ortiz does in the ring.

So you got your opinion and is respected but when 95% of people think highly of someone, I think that's a statement.

The guy has a nasty power jab, throws nice combinations, gives angles and what I really liked about yesterday is that he show slickness and defense on his arsenal. A power puncher with defense spells problems for anyone.

The problem with your argument is that it can't be applied to all fighters, some fighters reach better level at his early 30's than his mid 20's.

Look I'm not here to debate that Ortiz is better than Spence, the point I'm trying to make is that in the near future Ortiz might be on almost the same level as Spence.

As they say, sometimes you can learn more from failure than success (although of course we still rather not fail in the first place).
Yeah for sure and to me it wasn't like he had a harder time just took him a little longer and that is credit to Vargas because he came to fight not just that but I'm sure his hand issue had something to do with it taking longer than expected.

Aside from that I thought he won every round and was never in danger went some rounds which is what he needed especially after a long layoff and ended up getting the stoppage. I'd like to see him against someone like Eddie Gomez or Rashidi Ellis next.

The kid did great considering the long layoff and the fact that his trainer , Garcia , wasn’t in the corner
People seem to forget that Ortiz is 22 fughin years old and already fighting the likes of Vargas
Ortiz will be the face of boxing sooner than later
He’s got everything going for him

                    • Some are getting carried away here. For Ortiz having so little fights and showing so much technic he has makes him one of the top guys from the upcoming crop.

But he had a guy that has a poor defense and did not a lot of punching power. He looked good and did what he had to do with an opponent of that consistent caliber.

I expect bigger things from Ortiz but lets see when he gets match up with some of the guys currently on the top. I like him far better than Ryan Garcia.
