Even ottkes name will also always be mentioned but only as a joke. Lots of things about Floyd s c career is funny also like ottkes.
Buddy Mc girt will obviously prefer the higher ATGs legacy

There is a lot of bitterness and envy surrounding Mayweather so I cannot take their opinion seriously.

It is always clear that other fighters and trainers look as him as a rival or something they failed to achieve. Ergo it is easier for them to give Pacquiao his dues because they don't see it as a threat.

I look at what both fighters achieved in the ring. They were close enough that Mayweather's one sided victory puts him down as number 1.

Pacquiao built a vast resume long before the talks of a Floyd matchup(Beating mexican ATG after ATG) and long after Floyd even retired from the sport. Pacquiao has a phenomenal standing in the sport of boxing. The difference is that Pacquiao took the risks inside the ring. Floyd did not, that's why he has his clean record but at a cost.

This is where you don't get it, Floyd is the one envious of everyone else, hence his diva-like tantrums anytime a fighter his ranked higher than him. He hinged his legacy on an undefeated record from a career that was very carefully navigated.

Sure a win is a win, but boxing is a spectator sport. Fighting like an amateur trying to seal a points win isn't very fan-friendly. Especially while cherry-pick the weakest links to each division and a good part of your defense is clinching and running.
I'm not gonna disagree with you but that's how Mayweather got rich was people paying top dollar to see him fight most to see if he would lose

Does McGirt have a history of being bitter and jealous of Floyd?

Why would two HOF’ers and a heavyweight contender be jealous or bitter over Floyd? They offered their honest opinion and assessment but Floyd fans can’t accept it at face value.

He can say that but we'll see.

Mayweather is going to be remembered forever. Either way.

At the moment, many people still don't like him. But as time goes on, his legacy is going to turn into a legend of being untouchable.

Pacquiao will be remembered forever as well. One of the greatest warriors ever but that little bit of Mayweather beating him will be there and when people think "he wasn't in his prime". They will then see Mayweather was even older than him, making it an even greater feat.
