I just lost some respect for Lennox Lewis. Here's why.

Tyson and Lewis would had profited in a rematch. It was a one sided fight so I don't know how well it would had done. Mike Tyson actually bit Lewis in one of the press conference.

I lost respect for Lennox Lewis as soon as he started bragging about his win vs Tyson as if it was a real fight and not a "champion vs a drugged shell of a former champion" kind of matchup.

Lennox Lewis was at the very end of it vs Vitali, clearly past it so NO he didn't have to give Vitali a rematch since he retired and never fought again after that. It is not like he went on a fought a weaker opponent after that he RETIRED!

As for a Mike Tyson rematch, yeah I'm sure he was very much open to a Mike Tyson rematch despite destroying him because regardless it would've been another massive Payday (both Lennox and Mike Tyson made $17.5 Million Each to fight each other in that fight and generating $106.9 million from 1.95 million buys in America Alone). Rematch probably would've been more if they did it!

Tyson is an ****** who bit his leg like some animal so he deserved another beating and also, it was still a big money fight. Reason was because people still wanted to see Lewis beat his arse some more because Tyson is an ****** who cowardly bites his foes.

Who wouldn't want to be paid extra for beating some ****** who bit your leg while a security team was holding you down?

I agree that he won every round by a mile and a rematch with Tyson was uncalled for. If he was going to continue boxing a rematch with vitali would be what lots of fans wanted to see since many fans including myself thin Vitali would have knocked him out if he had not been cut. Lewis was very old for a boxer so if he wanted to retire that was what he should do.

I agree that Vitali was giving Lennox hell. I remember the announcers saying that Lewis had been doing promos & had a shortened training camp for the fight. If he had a full camp before the rematch Vitali begged for, we would have had an even more epic fight. I think Lennox would have won on points, though.

Lets not forget another thing. Vitali himself really wanted to fight Mike Tyson in 05(before he lost to Danny Williams).

People behave as though Lennox didn't beat Vitali. Off a rubbish training camp, when he hadn't fought for a long time, against a replacement opponent, against a bloody good fighter. Everything was setup for an upset and he still beat him.

I can understand why you wanted to see a rematch but not why, for one second, an aging Lennox would give him one.

If he wanted Tyson it was for money. Obviously.

As for going down in your opinion. He'd proved everything he needed to. He was old. If you needed more, then that's on you, not him.

I've since lost some respect for Lennox through his media work but it changes nothing about his boxing career.

Why? It was a big money fight... These guys still have to do what's best for they familes too not just pride fighting....
