Comments Thread For: Fury: Wilder's Career Would've Ended If Corner Didn't Stop Sequel

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury believes Deontay Wilder should be thankful that his corner stopped him from taking further damage in their February sequel by throwing in the towel in the seventh round.

Don't think Wilder's in a mad rush to get back in tbh - despite activating the rematch clause.

That activation has everything to do with his ego. Though covid-19 has given him some respite. But still, I don't think it will be enough time to improve his skills after so many years of neglect.

I wouldn't have mind had the fight been stopped three rounds earlier. Only time will reveal. However, it may have been just a bit too late. It's possible but that fight could have very well ended Deontay Wilder's career. We don't what toll or any the fight may have taken out of him. He may never be the same fighter again which is something I worry about.

If he doesn’t change anything then he will lose again.

His corner saved him and he acted like a fool after. He had no shot at winning that fight and his corner did what any good corner should. Wilder will not recover mentally from this, he talked so much about Fury being unable to hurt him to being completely destroyed by those "pillow hands". His fanboys are completely broken from this, Fury caused a few mental breakdowns from some of these Wilder fans.

Somebody needs to get Wilder a PR rep. The stuff that comes outta his mouth just makes him look lame & petty AF every time he says something. He got beat in devastating fashion & lost his belt to the better man. If you can't acknowledge the other man as champion for defeating you for your belt then that means the belt in your possession was worthless to begin with. He just sold himself short & ain't even realize it. Lol & Smh.
