“If you want to joke about who I am, where I come from, my heritage, my lips, my nose, my eyes, my skin, the food I eat, don’t feel too comfortable around me trying to joke about that stuff because I’m proud of who I am. If you want to know about my heritage, you ask, rather than belittle it.” - Anthony Joshua

I am? Then why did Anthony Joshua feel the need to attend a Black Lives Matter protest? Obviously, AJ doesn't feel the same as you. He said racism against Africans and Caribbeans does exist in the U.K. but it was more subtle and to a much lesser extent than the U.S. If anyone should know it's him because he comes from that community.

That’s a very common way of thinking for English, scottish, Welsh, Cornish etc peoples in the uk when the question of racism against people of colour are concerned. The old saying when I was younger was “we english are the fairest people in the world...” while at the same time the English were coming to the realisation that the “empire” was over and all these people from the former colonies were being invited to the UK to build the economy particularly in the two decades after WWII. Of course you are on to something concerning the statement and behaviour of the poster basically saying racism is a problem in the USA not the uk. What people like that fail to acknowledge is that they themselves are not the target of racism and white supremacy, they don’t have to feel it, ever. Unless they have a black souse and black children and have to experience it through the eyes and feelings of those family members they can avoid it their entire lives. It is very common for whites in the uk, and the USA for that matter, to tell blacks there is no such thing as racism and of course this is at the heart of the frustration of people of African origins and to be honest of open minded, educated, and fair minded white people as well. But this particularly british mindset of “there’s no racism here” is a product of the empire mentality. So many white sports fans are furious at joshua because in their eyes he betrayed them. They wanted him to behave as they wanted him to, and never mention his blackness or speak out in support of black economic empowerment. If we take close look at the more racist individuals posting on this forum you will see they tend to concentrate on black Americans. This is because culturally black Americans have had to fight for everything they have gotten...freedom, voting, education, etc etc and are far more vocal and unified than black Britons. This “offends” british fragility. “How dare they!” We must remember that the island of Britain dominated much of Africa, the Pacific, North America, southern and southwest Asia for centuries. The British mentality is ultra-nationalistic. In their minds, black Americans challenge the natural order....they are personally offended by the exertiveness of black Americans......the rage about Joshua’s statements is because now it appears black Britons are not as quiet as they have been in the past. After all, black and white Britons just tore town a statue in Bristol of Tory MP, an Deputu Governor of the Royal Africa Company Edward Colston who became a very wealthy man due to the trade of human lives.....and torturous death.
Believe me when I tell you that racists in the uk are EXTREMELY uncomfortable with the idea of a very serious social change. They feel betrayed by Joshua this ho was supposed to be “one of us”.....as long as he knew his place....

So Aj has called himself the superior race & now according to him blacks should avoid white shops.
Now imagine role's reversed Fury said all that....
He'd have his licence revoked and he'd be front middle & back page news for being ra cist.
AJ's a ra cist hypejob duck. Period.

Well said AJ. I'm a white man and the white race needs to take a good, hard look at itself. Most of us aren't racists, but we let it slide when we hear some moron making racist comments, slimeballs making monkey chants at football games etc.
The black race has been oppressed for WAY, WAY too long. All they want is to be treated like everyone else. And if you don't like that, like he said, GO F*** YOURSELF!

I think most people condemned those on the beaches. It didn't make this right. We were all trying to save the NHS. Lots of the so called protesters in London didn't follow any guidelines. As for the shops. Who are the people he referred to, who condone racism? He meant white business and you all know it. I'm a mixed race man, and I've had it from both sides, but far more vocally from black people, and heard lots of black people insult their darker brothers as being BLIC. You aint done bad in the UK AJ, the British public didn't turn their back on you. The media threw you under the bus though.

Britain isn't ultra nationalistic at all. There's nowhere else on earth that people from abroad are welcomed as in Britain. Nowhere else that Asian gangs could **** whole communities and people literally be too scared to say it. I've got a black and white side to my family. I've had more comments about dating white girls from black people than white, more references to dirty pork than anything else. Joshua was talking about white business, boycotting them as a blanket reaction to the racism of some. Who are the racists who's shops hes saying to not shop at. He's just part of the in crowd, who want to ferment more division, because they're doing quite well out of it. They're all silent on all the knife crime where I live, fully support the sort of artists that push gangster rap and drill at kids, encouraging them to throw their lives down the toilet. Did the racist UK public reject AJ for the colour of hes skin. No, it was he brothers across the pond who trashed him for losing to Ruiz. There was some hate on display there. I always support him, but he was talking about white business and shops, stop lying to yourself.
