Maybes his supporters don't like Deontay Wilder because he is Joshua's rival? Just putting that unlikely scenario out there...

As for Eddie Hearn he is probably the best promoter out there in terms of putting his fighters in with decent opponents. Al haymon you get 4 bums and then one championship fight. Why would anyone support that? It's bad for the fighters too. They think they are invincible and then they get put in with a genuine live boxer and struggle while Haymon makes a ton of money. It fools the fans I'll give him that.

I support *** in principle but it is true black people are racist as hell. As a white man who has dated a couple of black girls in my life (including one from the US) - it's way worse racism than white people (in the UK at least anyway). They got all sorts of trouble from their families and people they work with. When black people are racist - no one checks or stops them, so that problem just stays in the community. It becomes normal.

As for being a closet racist, ha no mate, honestly the colour of folks skin is about as important to me as the colour of their hair.
The full speech is on YouTube and people just picked a sound bite out of context to create an uproar.

His message was mostly about unity apart from calling out the lil cu..nts fighting gang wars over post codes they don't own a house in and talking about black people boycotting racist stores who don't want to change their ways.

You're one of the most level-headed/intelligent posters on here and I'm glad you can accept you're wrong here. The section of the country that started the uproar are the same people that never liked the guy and most of them are Fury fans. And it's pretty easy for them to take a sound bite out of context to fit a narrative. The Mayor of Watford (Peter Taylor), who's English, was there and he quoted Marcus Garvey (who was widely regarded as a racist by some people) and talked about helping black businesses. I'm pretty sure if Josh had said anything racist - the Mayor would've chastised him.

Go head AJ you the man! I like this side of Anthony Joshua. I always thought of him as a nice black man who stayed in his place; Which explained his popularity among whites.

Thank you once again, I appreciate you factoring in my genral input in and not pulling me over the hot coals on this post alone.

I'll check the full interview out on YouTube later and no doubt have a little cringe to myself.

              This is clock on...

The media have a huge part in the portrayal of it. They have the headlines which people see and interviews are edited for maximum exposure/talking points and like you say, it's all taken out of context and uproar..

Tbh, I read an article on it and had to have a little think. On such subjects I looked up the The full speech to get a better insight and things became clearer...

When people see AJ articles about superior race and then headlines of "stop buying from their shops" i can understand the uproar but this clearly is a situation where you need to read/hear the full speech..

The Uk doesn’t need more people pushing a divide

                Just my opinion obviously

“However I hope those who are complaining about social distancing have the same energy about those gathering for a day at the beach [and] those going to the park for a picnic.”

This is the biggest strawman argument defending the protests in the pandemic.

Of fecking course we moaned about the beach go-ers, we're British we moan about everything.

                      Your reaching

If you look through British boxing history you will find out that boxing fans / people over here don’t give a **** about race . It’s America that has a massive race divide

It’s the media pushing the hate and racists on both sides are loving it
