Shadow is absolutely correct GGGs timeline is a complete mess. It’s unfair to try to say he’s old now when just like Floyd, Pac, Marquez, Klitchko, Mosely etc. he’s been given an opportunity to really more on skills that pay the bills instead of speed or power which isn’t enough vs Canelo. It’s unfortunate in gggs case that he wasted his prime on tomato cans. No ones fault but his!
Don't forget Golovkin had a long amateur career of 395 fights and his fighting style often sees him taking shots just so he can get his own shots off, so its unfair to put him in the same bracket as the older fighters you've mentioned.Comment

Canelos situation is understood by everyone! Why should a fighter in his position give in to that type of pressure? What! for a fighter like Golovkin who has had arguable the most comfortable career in fighting history? Look if your mad cuzz ggg will continue fighting bums, take that frustration out on Golovkin! Canelo will continue to give us great fights with or without Golovkin
PS Canelo vs Jacobs was a horrible fight, absolute snorefest. The kovalev fight was no better - non eventful for 11 rounds until 36 year old Kovalev, who was no doubt still not in prime condition from the quick turnaround from the yarde fight, got tired and couldn't defend himself no more leading to the KO.Comment

He got $5.2 million from GGG, so yes, it was $300k less.
That doesn’t change anything.
Derevyanchenko didn’t duck Canelo because he couldn’t force Canelo to vacate the title.
SD could have only ducked Canelo if he declined to fight for the title when he was named mandatory. That’s not what happened, he entered negotiations.
SD was offered $5.5 million from Canelo. He wanted $7 million. He knew if it went to purse bid, he would get somewhere around $18 million.
Canelo vacated over $1.5 million when he makes $35 million a fight.
Spin it however you want. He’s not worth 18mil let alone 7mil.
So yes he “declined” his biggest purse to date and opportunity to fight the P4P#1. To fight The 4th best guy in the division for less money. So yes he ducked the fight.Comment

SD didn’t price himself out, that’s a narrative you’ve created in face of all the facts.
$5.5 million wasn’t fair because someone who isn’t anywhere near the drawing power of Canelo Alvarez was able to get him $5.2 million.
$7 million is almost half of what Daniel Jacobs and Sergey Kovalev got to fight Canelo. It’s almost half of what De La Hoya claims he offered Charlo to fight Canelo. It’s the same money Hearn offered Charlo to fight Andrade. It’s less than what Billy Joe Saunders and Callum Smith were offered to fight Canelo.
$7 million is a totally fair counter offer.
Canelo’s team wouldn’t budge from $5.5 million when the difference in asking price was $1.5 million. It’s worth noting that Canelo Alvarez makes $35 million a fight, so coming to a middle ground on $1.5 million shouldn’t be any issue at all.
I didn’t say a promoter was going to pay Derevyanchenko $18 million. I said he’s entitled to a 65-35 split if it goes to purse bid. Since Canelo makes $35 million a fight, Derevyanchenko’s 35% cut is $18 million.
So Derevyanchenko, with the IBF giving him a blank check and with GGG guaranteeing him the same pay day Canelo was, didn’t bend over. All he asked for was a fair market rate and Canelo’s team said no.
The biggest piece of evidence to support all this is the fact that Canelo Alvarez was publicly livid when he found out GBP didn’t give Derevyanchenko $7 million to make the fight.
But continue pretending the mandatory somehow ducked the champion when the champion was stripped. Ignore Canelo Alvarez’s own words because it makes Canelo Alvarez seem more awesome in your eyes.
Pricing yourself out is just another way of ducking a fight. SD new he was never going to get more than what was offered. He’s an unknown fighter. No promoter and I mean no promoter will ever pay him 18mil even if it went to purse bidHe’s not worth 18mil let alone 7mil.
So yes he “declined” his biggest purse to date and opportunity to fight the P4P#1. To fight The 4th best guy in the division for less money. So yes he ducked the fight.Comment

So a purse bid isn’t even a reality.
The fact remains he turned down 5.5mil to fight GGG for less money. Not for the same amount like you say. He priced himself out. And that is a duck.
So you can spin it how ever you want to fit you’re narrative. It still doesn’t make it true. Try presenting facts next time not feelings.Comment

Fulfill his contract? Wat are you some kind of casual? Correct your timeline. When Canelo signed with DAZn gggs was still under contract with HBO, so how could ggg be any part on Canelos contract when we all know he was also negotiating with Showtime? As far as ggg he’s been pretending to be Canelos Boss in this situation since he signed with Dazn and Canelo has been very generous with ggg so there’s no reason to act out of pocket with the man who made you rich. You act as if the Aside needs to be submissive to ggg, man! the man understandably has no interest in this fight whatsoever and he dosnt feel like wasting his time with an old gggLast edited by rrayvez; 05-25-2020, 07:27 PM.Comment

We both have opinions.
You feel $5.5 million was fair and point to Derevyanchenko not making that much money when he wasn’t fighting Canelo.
I think $5.5 million wasn’t fair because it’s less than every other recent Canelo opponent has made and SD made $5.2 million to fight a boxer who isn’t a cross over super star.
You’re just clearly biased because you hold GGG accountable for “ducking” a fighter he actually fought but won’t hold Canelo accountable for not fighting that same fighter.
I understand that Derevyanchenko isn’t going to get $18 million. But when the IBF calls a 65-35 split and Canelo makes $35 million a fight, the 35% split is $18 million. That, along with having the same offer from GGG created leverage for SD. That’s boxing and that’s business. If Canelo wanted to keep the title, he would have to pay a little more. He didn’t. Apparently he even wanted too but GBP didn’t.
Regardless, you’re going to hold Derevyanchenko accountable for trying to negotiate a better deal when he had all the leverage and the same offer in his pocket from another fighter. But Canelo, the guy who makes $35 million a fight, isn’t held accountable for refusing to split the difference on $1.5 million.
What a f**king fan boy you are.
Again you don’t present facts you state feelings. And feelings are not facts. You say 5.5mil wasn’t fair. That’s you stating you’re feelings not facts. Before the GGG fight. SD biggest purse was 462k against Jacobs. That’s how much he was worth. But 5.5 isn’t fair? Again no promoter in the world would pay him more that what he’s worth, let alone 18mil. Was the IBF going to pay SD that 18 milcuz that’s the only way he was going to get that 18mil you speak of. So a purse bid isn’t even a reality.
The fact remains he turned down 5.5mil to fight GGG for less money. Not for the same amount like you say. He priced himself out. And that is a duck.
