He signed to fight Szeremeta before he signed to fight Canelo. Canelo’s team asked him to fight Canelo first. He said no.

Why is that even an issue? They asked for a FAVOR and he said no. There’s a reason you ask for favors and say please.

Also, they do fight the same level of competition.

Canelo’s second best win is Golovkin’s best win.

They’re both facing each other three times when ranked in the top 5-10 p4p.

And really besides Jacobs, GGG and Mayweather, who did Canelo fight.

Unlike a Steve Rolls, Vanes (both moving up a weight class), Brook(moving up 2 weight classes) or Sermenta. And before you say Cotto was old. Alvarez was supposed to face him when he fought Trout. Neither the first GGG nor the fourth GGG negotiations were successful. First negotiations couldn't agree on weight and it probably didn't help that WBC put a 15 day deadline on those negotiations...literally never heard of that EVER before or since. 2nd and 3rd negotiations produced 1st and 2nd fight.

The 4th negotiations was essentially GGG demanding a 3rd fight but he wanted to pick judges and ref, Canelos gloves, and the venue...all those demands...as the LOSER.

Instead Canelo fought a career LHW who was 35-2-1 with a 75% KO ratio and was coming off back to back wins over undefeated opponents with his most recent win a KO. Canelo moved up 2 weight classes to face that guy instead of GGG. That was a GOOD move as GGG ruined the hype of a 3RD fight by fighting some BUM instead of a top contender in Rolls.

When GGG finally did return to a meaningful fight he lost to Dervenchenko. Again that killed a ton of interest for Canelo and now GGG is fixated on yet another bum. And some so called "boxing fans" defend this.

I totally understand why Canelo Alvarez didn’t fight Sergey Derevyanchenko.

If I was his promoter, I would have wanted my fighter to fight Kovalev instead Derevyanchenko as well.

There’s nothing good that could come from a fight with Derevyanchenko and anything bad that could have happened against Kovalev would be excused away with the size difference.

So I don’t care that Canelo didn’t fight Derevyanchenko.

I’m just pointing out how hilarious and hypocritical Canelo fans are.

GGG is still crucified for ducking Derevyanchenko and fighting Alaverez instead (which he shouldn’t be crucified for) when the GGG-SD fight happened a fight removed from the Canelo Alaverez rematch.

Alaverez is then completely excused for vacating the exact same title against the exact same mandatory opponent.

The excuses for him are hilarious. We’re going to pretend Derevyanchenko didn’t want to fight Alavrez.

So why don’t we just admit that GGG and Canelo both fight the best competition available and can’t really be chastised for ducking. If we’re going to complain that they’ve ducked someone, they‘be both “ducked“ the exact same opponents, like Derevyanchenko, Andrade and Charlo.
