Comments Thread For: Hearn: Criticism Of Golovkin For Not Wanting To Fight Canelo Next 'Unfair'

So you rather fight a less known guy for the same amount as the face of boxing? You do see how dumb that sounds. If you fight Alvarez not only do you get more exposure. You get the opportunity of beating him and getting a rematch for whatever $ you want. Well, he chose wrong!!
Chances of Derev ever landing a Canelo payday are almost none. And that’s if Alvarez decides to go back to MW.

Of course I would rather fight GGG for the same amount of money.
In fact, there isn’t a professional boxer alive that would fight Canelo over GGG if both offered the same purse.
Every boxer alive would also use the GGG offer to try to get more money out of Canelo, which is exactly what SD did.
GGG is old and lost to Canelo. Canelo also seems more impossible to beat by decision given who got the favorable treatment in that series.
A win over GGG leads to increased leverage in Canelo negotiations and increased demand to see that fight.
I would look at the GGG fight as making the same money in the immediate future and with a much better possibility of making way more in the near future.
The Canelo fight is basically more dangerous and has the same financial payoff.
Again, no one would fight Canelo if they got the same offer to fight GGG. No one.

Let’s be real the reward isn’t the same. He chose the GGG fight now he has no Belt and No leverage. So he chose wrong. Guess it’s just as hard to get a decision over GGG If your name isn’t Alvarez. And I’m glad to see you admit that GGG was the easier fight of the 2 (“GGG is old and lost to Canelo”. “The Canelo fight is basically more dangerous and has the same financial payoff.“) Because that contradicts your original statement of Alvarez vacating. And proves SD ducked that fight for the easier routeOf course I would rather fight GGG for the same amount of money.

3G may have signed up with DAZN aiming for a 3rd fight with Canelo.
But what about the Ginger kid? He didn't sign up with G3 in mind.
Glovkin signed up late after a year of disappearance nursing his
hurt feelings.
So to be fair, why is Canelo even had any obligation to fight 3G?Comment
