Comments Thread For: Hearn: Criticism Of Golovkin For Not Wanting To Fight Canelo Next 'Unfair'

Eddie Hearn understands Gennadiy Golovkin's point. Golovkin's co-promoter believes the IBF middleweight champion has been unfairly criticized for publicly refusing to fight Canelo Alvarez next. Landing a third bout against Alvarez was one of Golovkin's main motivations for signing a six-fight, nine-figure contract with DAZN last year, but Hearn feels Golovkin's insistence on fighting Kamil Szeremeta next is reasonable because that was the plan DAZN devised for Golovkin when Alvarez refused last year to face him a third time.

Well played, Eddie. Its also quite apparent he doesn't truly believe BJS beats Canelo, which is common sense really. Neither are likely to KO each other for different reasons and the scorecard will go to Canelo even if he doesn't come out of the dressing room...so, there's that. No reason Canelo shouldn't fight Billie, Billie isn't a threat Canelo would want to fight when he is over 35.

Problem is nobody is interested in a fight with a guy who only has 5 kos on his record. This is truly a trash fight! Boxing fans want to see competitive fights. GGG Give Derevyanchenko his rematch!

Dervenchenko beat GGG but no Borat Stans crying about that judging lol

And Borat flat out ducking Canelo the same way he ducked Canelo and Cotto in 2014.

Yawn, hoping Borat fights SOMETHING besides club fighters so I can see him KTFO

It probably is unfair to a point. Canelo camp rufuses a fight, GG looks elsewhere. Canelo camp all of a sudden fancy the fight and GG is already contracted (coincidence or not). Both get stick because fans want to see good fighters fight each other and when one seems to avoid the other then someone will get stick and why shouldn't they?

The promoters try and palm crap fights off as build ups to a big fight and the big fight never happens..

if one thing good within boxing comes from this virus then I hope it's fans won't take to being conned and keep the money in the pockets...

Let both divas move on. Ggg will never get the big signature win on his resume and Canelo will never be able to prove that he was able to clearly beat an old version of Ggg.

Are you high? Canelo said yes because they will give him more money.
