All the respect in the world to lower divisions, but at the end of the day, the Heavyweight division is the absolute KING of boxing. This is not disputable.

Tired of other country's having complete control of the division when not too long ago, America ruled the division with an iron fist. Gets depressing knowing America no longer has a grip on the division.

Is there any Americans that I should look out for that makes the future look bright and promising?
    - -Mentally Americans coddled Sissys for the foreseeable future.

They'd rather grab their crotches and rap thug jive. Less embarrassing than getting KOed in public.

Never, the Super Heavyweights have fractured the weight class.

And besides, the Heavyweight division has been kinda overrated. Majority of Heavyweight fights turn into boring wrestling matches because the fighters are fat, slow, out of shape and tire after only 4-5 rounds tops.

Interesting thing about MMA guys. Very few seem to have had any skill/success with football, baseball, or basketball.

With more Eastern European and UK fighters fighting pro very little, back in the day United States was the only ones basically competing. Stop making excuses that all the good athletes go to the NFL the NFL and NBA were around back in the 70’s . Just because someone is a good ball player doesn’t mean you will make a great fighter.

Heavyweight division is still elite division, it always was.

Theres some truth to this imo. If the soviets had been able to turn pro earlier there probably never would have been a US domination of the HW division in the first place.

The NBA/NFL excuse always makes me laugh because the US actually has a large number of active HWs, probably the most of any country. And i'm not sure boxing is the no1 priority for HW sized athletes anywhere. Rugby in the UK for example gets 90% of the big athletes in the country. Then in other parts of the world hockey, basketball, wrestling etc are all competing for big guys.

The USA has not had a good heavyweight since the days of Evander holyfield, rid**** bowe......22 years ago that was and it was desperation to see another champion win a heavyweight title.
Why do you think we saw so many of the wilderettes on this forum shouting from the rooftops about this puncher from Alabama lol.
The more astute American posters knew wilder was an imposter who would get found out
Financially in the states boxing is on life support now and needs a miracle to come back to life.
