I'm not a Floyd lover, but let's all agree he's barely been hit in 50 fights and he's had the most successful career ever. TBE? Nah, but debatable. Ellerbe is **** on, Maidana was dirty and aggressive but Floyd won CLEARLY. No debate on that one. Rematch, he hurt Floyd badly at the end of rd 2 I think, the upper cut gave him the chicken legs. If not at the end of the rd Floyd would have been in the worst trouble in his career because Maidana would have pounced on him.

That makes it a draw right there and on the night I felt maidana done enough to win with a close decision.
Saw the same thing you did, but couldn't find the extra round for Maidana. Had it a draw. Credit to Floyd for making it a draw after that beginning. Rewatching tonight

Who cares? What's more important is Floyd ran a Twitter poll before this fight for his next opponent - 2 options, Khan or Maidana and Khan won it.

So Floyd ducked Amir Khan lol.

Floyd deserved what happened in this fight after that. He was made to look oridnary. Only reason Floyd looked so far ahead of everyone else was because he picked his opponents. e.g. novice Canelo (was refused a rematch when he got better), old and broken Pacquiao, old Mosley, old Judah. I could go on.... He was no Sugar Ray Robinson.

Ellerbere's right this time. Maidana exceeded expectations but Floyd was the winner.
you gotta love Chino but Maidana was a brawler and a three time loser. His claim to fame was a victory over Broner. Actually there was a poll where Floyd asked the fans who he should fight Maidana or Khan. The fans chose Khan by a wide margin but Pretty Boy opted for Maidana. LOL

I don't think there's any real case for Maidana winning 7 rounds. Those rounds just weren't there. 6 is a pretty big stretch because you basically have to give Maidana every round that isn't indisputably clear, even when he shouldn't have gotten a round.

It was a hell of an effort and one of the closest fights of Mayweather's career, but I don't see how Maidana gets the win.

lol those who complained about dirty fighters and still do until this day, somehow loved the way Midana fought in this fight. too funny, was a good fight tho need to rewatch. Floyd was so good that when he got hit or had a tough fight with other RANKED professional fighters people took it overboard and say he lost.

Ellerbe is right on the money here. It was a rougher fight than we were used to seeing so people (especially those rooting against TBE) got excited. I gave Maidana 4 rounds meaning he put up a very good fight (better than almost anyone) but he still clearly lost.

Lol @ trolls saying Khan would’ve beat Floyd. Take your meds please. Khan never earned that fight and got his ass handed to him by fighters who wouldn’t win a round against TBE. Talk about clutching at straws lol.

The problem there was that Maidana was looking great and coming off a great performance against Broner so you could hype up that fight. Whereas Khan had just lost to Peterson (A B- fighter) then got knocked all over the ring by Danny Garcia. Then looked awful in his comeback fight against a past prime Julio Diaz who only lost by a hair. Hardly the build up for a mega fight is it? Yeah he won Floyd’s poll but there was like 5 other polls on ESPN and other sites and Maidana won all those easy and he made for a better fight due to his style. Plus the Broner fight was a great win for him and he was on a roll at that time.

Floyd would’ve got absolutely slated if he fought Khan instead of Maidana guys. It’s not like a Ricky Hatton situation where the guy was undefeated and had a huge fan base from his home country. Most brits didn’t/don’t really care much for Khan. If he stayed undefeated the fight would’ve happened but he wasn’t good enough and couldn’t get past the solid B level guys. Need to beat them to get to the A+ guy and he couldn’t do it.
