A win over Delahoya and or Mosley will overshadow any potential fight with Margarito or Baldomir.

When he gets that "W" on his record, no one is going to remember any of the crying and complaining that's been spammed over the last few months.

He also never had an opportunity to fight 'the man' at 140, because Hatton hasn't been interested in fighting him for over a year now.

You see guys the thing is NO_MATTER what we say or the writers or anybody else for that matter, A FIGHTER has to PICK HIS FIGHTScarefully, and this is what PBF is doing he may not see it and we may not believe it but this is what his doing! His doing whats best for him and what HE SEES AS HIS LEGACY, so if that means not living up to what SOME fans feel and think he should be doing or fighting the fights that SOME fans feel he should be fighting then so be it.........BUT when did winning TITLES not add to a guys legacy, I know im OKAY with EVERY SINGLE FIGHT his fought thus far and will be until he retires and didnt fight the Margaritos or the Hattons or the Mosleys, this is yet to happen so........

Also by PBF taking a Spinks fight (which isnt offical) it adds so much fuel to the fire of the almost GUAREENTEED 2007 FOTY, PBF V ODLH The Super Fight, in which ODLH can go out as the LMW champ or Floyd can either begin his assult on the divison or DO WHAT YOU PEOPLE WANT and then go back down and take blads belt and then take Margaritos belt and then take Hattons belt and then beat Cotto and anyother ***GOT that you claim his DUCKING!

It's been hinted at here, but when it comes down to it- when history is written- none of us will find our names in the boxing records. No matter what we say about Mayweather, the hours of speculation on whom he should fight, the constant cries of him being afraid of Margarito, none of that is written. None of our comments will be found anywhere. What people will see is how many titles Floyd grabbed, how his record stands- and to tell you the truth if Floyd could grab Spinks' belt, win against De la Hoya, and maybe even do the impossible at middleweight (I doubt he can win anything there)- Floyd would be in the hall of fame. The man who 'ducked' Margarito and never fought Hatton....he could still enter the boxing hall of fame, the record books- and what more legacy does he want?

Floyd very well may leave with a legacy, despite how disappointed we may currently be by his selection of opponents.

Oh he's a first ballot HOF'er if he never fought again but people will remember if he ducks fighters. Don't think that people will forget about Roy Jones' opposition. Also, the trinkets will only look worse over time as you would hope the sport will someday clean up that nonsense. Floyd is the one who said nothing but big fights. Those were his words. Since then, its been Sharmba Mitchell, a Zab Judah coming off a loss, and now Cory Spinks who came off a loss to defeat a champion even though he was on his bike an arguably didn't even win the damn thing but he was in his hometown. If he fought Margarito in November and then some combination of Mosley in the spring and Oscar in the summer or Oscar in the spring then Shane in the fall he'd seriously earn my respect as a true champion but he wants a lot of easy money

Once again, you need to realize what a tiny stretch this will be in retrospect looking at things years later.

If he goes on to beat Spinks and then Oscar and or Mosley, even if he continues fighting or not, this period is going to be looked on favorably.

If you honestly think 10 years from now people are going to wonder why he didn't fight Carlos Baldomir you're sadly mistaken.

If he never faces Margarito, that may come into question, but a lot of that depends on what Margarito does from here on in. As of yet, he doesn't have any wins to write home about, and if he loses some fights and doesn't make a big splash, no one's going to remember him as a guy that was avoided.

The names like Delahoya will wash out anything people are currently crying about.

Unless he goes the rest of his career without fighting anyone meaningfull, this is all a bunch of hot air.

You're reduced to one liners because you don't have anything logical to say. PBF is a ducker. And you're just in denial.

Exactly. Everyone will forget about Mayweather ducking Margarito, etc. when they look back at his acheivements. If he continues to fight the Cory Spinks of the world, of course it will be an astrick beside his name, but at this point in time he is nowhere near fighting the constant stream of soft opposition Roy Jones Jr. did. If Mayweather 'ducks' Margarito, but fights De la Hoya, Mosley and a few other decent names- he will only be remembered for beating those men, not for having ducked Margarito- unless Antonio has a stellar career from here and becomes the dominant force at 147, unifying the titles, etc.

LOL..typical..forget that Vargas and Dela already beat em....forget that Jermaine Taylor is the true champ at middle!
