I actually liked the sub plot between Drago and his son in Creed 2. Would be interesting to see what Clubber has been up to after all these years. Something crazy no doubt.
I figure he's been yelling into a mirror the past thirty years.

Funny thread. Clubber is my favorite Rocky rival and no one is even a close second. His one liners were the best, without being too over the top.

Anyways, one reason why the newer films lost the humor is because they don't have a comic relief character like Paulie. He was a gem in the Rocky series. Like in Rocky III, saying sht like, "you can't train him (Rocky) like a colored fighter, he ain't got no rhythm." Haha

They need a new goofball character, Kevin Hart might be too funny and too famous though. He probably thinks he's too big to be a sidekick in a Rocky spinoff.

Yes! Paulie brought a lot to the series! I love it when he falls in the snow in part 4 and says, "Goddamn." Or in three where he looks around at the LA streets and says, "I don't even have a gun."

Yeah, I mean, anything without comic relief of some sort tends to suck. Life can't be that damn serious and still be any fun. Haha.

Maybe they should give Paulie a long lost twin brother. Name him Philly. Haha. Again, this is something that would get me to pay to see the next one.

I always feel bad for Paulie when I see that scene where Tommy Morrison knocked his teeth out, but I always laugh too though lol.

R.I.P. to Paulie (the character, Burt Young is still alive).

I enjoyed the Drago family plot the best also. I thought Dolph stole the show in the first expendables too. There’s no need for a Kevin Hart to just play Kevin Hart, sum corny corner guy. He wouldn’t be there unless he was sum ex welter or something. I’d rather see him serious, but with sum wit. I think the best portrayal Adonis did was pull up to the gym in his fancy car, and then just peace out. I know the series takes liberties with weights. But Jordan is said to have weighed between 188 and 191 for Creed 2. Sum articles tell u he cut down, others tell u he bulked up for the role. Kind of ridiculous. These actors with their money, trainers, nutritionists, financial incentive, get all this credit from the media for getting in shape like it’s harder for them than regular people. These guys are all way smaller than they are portrayed. Arnold had to drop weight for Conan, so I understand how the screen works. Marky Mark says he’s 5’10”. Id love to stand next to him bare foot.

They look really cool man. Rocky was one of the first movies my dad showed me, I he had the box set, I think I watched all 5 (at the time) in a few nights.

It was great to see another side to Drago, he was solely portrayed as a robotic, heartless killer in IV. It was interesting to see how the aftermath of his defeat to Balboa and fatherhood had changed him. I was actually rooting for Viktor in both fights.

Clubber’s son would naturally have to be an over the top character. Hart fits the bill but the size would be an issue. Mr T was under 6 ft though.
