I totally agree. Drago was off the ussr assembly line ( like they used to say of the klitschkos ) meant to toe and represent the party line. Thrown away after his loss to Rock. Surprised he let his son fight. But in truth if Viktor was good enough to get a HW title shot and beat down the champ like he did, he woulda been making millions. Probably be fighting out of Germany anyway. I know that doesn’t work for the story though. Adonis lost to pretty boy Conlan @175lbs but next we see him have won six straight fights in three years and beat Stuntman Wheeler for the HW title. Both were LH three years ago. That’d be impressive in real life. As far as a son of Lang as an opponent it’d be hard to imagine someone that wouldn’t be a disappointment. If anything Mr. T was unique. Hard to imagine someone who could talk or look as good. Plus the studios would know everyone would be cheering for a charismatic young Lang to beat a luke warm Adonis. But maybe in a shocker they could switch the story and sequel to Lang? Or they could just try to make him so awful. I honestly I like each movie in their own way. I mean Rocky said he was going to fight Drago for “No money” which is the single most far fetched moment in the whole series, so I understand it’s a different world. I think Apollo was a great character. He’s the most realistic fighter by far.
Best i've faced clubber lang

I think they missed a trick by having Donnie win the HW title prior to fighting Drago. He should have beat Wheeler for the LHW title and made several defences. Then have Viktor enter the scene and win the HW title in dominant fashion. Suddenly the media are demanding Donnie move up and avenge his father. That way Donnie seems like a much bigger underdog and it also explains the visuals of the size difference.I totally agree. Switching up the sequel is something I actually thought of watching Creed 2 I was almost like imagine they just did it. Based on the sub plot it seems a lot of us found ourselves rooting Drago.
I don’t think they’ll ever do it in reality though. Creed is the brand they are building.Comment

I like that as a boxing fan. Stuntman could have been p4p to make things more credible, and have him jump straight up to the champ, due to the bad blood. If Donnie doesn’t lose in the ring during the movie ud have to find a way to bring him right down at sum point, so he can come back up. Somebody on the good side would need to get hurt. Maybe they could brawl in a night club and Donnie could get hurt, cut. But I agree having Donnie HW champ and getting destroyed only to win by DQ and then winning a rematch in a war, deserves a trilogy. Truth is a real boxing movie would be three hours of hype and negotiations, and then no actual fight in the end.I think they missed a trick by having Donnie win the HW title prior to fighting Drago.
