Armstrong loved to fight in dog fights, inside, with his hands low. I can not see in 10 out of 10 fights, how Armstrong would win even 1. It would be target practice for Mayweather.

An absolute slaughter of a performance by Mayweather. Too short, severe reach disadvantage, and just a terrible style to use vs Mayweather. The 152 wins on his record does not cover his 22 losses, some of those losses being against “bum of the month” type of opponents in his peak and prime. The destruction would look so bad, and Floyd would be so heavily favored, that the fight would be called a cherrypick.
****ing LOL @ Mayweather stopping Armstrong. The guy that was walking through puncher’s commonly north of 10+ lbs heavier than him.

So dumb Mayweather can outbox armstrong, but there is also the issue that Mayweather does not like to throw punches, and relies on movement or the referee to cut the opponents workrate. The issue is he can’t move all night with 12 rounds, let alone would he for 15. If Augustus is overwhelming and beating the sht out of Mayweather I dread to think what Armstrong would do to him without a referee to pull them apart.

they speak on fighters theyve only seen a few highlights of

Armstrong was the most skilled pressure fighter of all time....inside conrol, controlling opponents head....rolling and shifting.....leaping left hooks, upstroke overhand rights, and could throw 100+ punches a round without breaking a sweat walking in ring 133lbs manhandling men 145, elbows,

jesus chavez n hatton were rough and tireless, imagine if they had his skills with the tenacity.....even more trouble for floyd...add that he had fast hands feet and a great chin

      more trouble for floyd

Yeah for sure. Power, speed, much longer reach, height and heart. Add in his boxing ability. Floyd can punch but I don't think he can hurt Tommy enough to stop his attack.

According to one of our posters here Manny is #7 and Floyd is #9.

Plus if Manny defeats either Spence or Crawford, there is no debate.

...doesnt change he lost head to head to floyd, got ktfo by his rival marquez whom he never beat decisively, outboxed by a past prime erik morales.... floyd was more dominant

posters can say what they want off preferences, its also people floyd beat that Manny has not, like Canelo...who will go down as an ATG and hall of famer.......canelo>crawford/spence

where ever he is, its behind floyd....hard to debate manny being over him when floyd edges him in just about everything besides loyal fans

I dont agree with DLH. In their fight it was at 154, Oscar picked Floyd's gloves, and the ring was small. Make those factors NEUTRAL and not in favor of Oscar and the fight plays out the same

Floyd couldve definitely HURT Oscar before his hands became brittle and if he had punchers gloves

Agreed Armstrong is a stylistic nightmare for Floyd...he brings the grit and approach that limited Maidana and JLC had and those guys both fought to 5-7 losses and some people had 6-6. Both would lose the rematch with more clinching from Floyd but Armstrong would do enough to win more rounds imo

I understand if you havent watched much of Armstrong but there is plenty of footage available. he had a bob and weave style and did get hit clean alot, knew how to shift his feet roll and ride shots, had endless stamina a great chin, stopped only 2 times, his first fight and 134th fight when he lost his title to hall of famer fritzie zivic in their second fight....

bum of the month is a term used by many fans who dont even know who these fighters fought. he started his career 1-4 and was learning on the job like most fighters back then. by the time he won the featherweight title he was 76-12 ...he won some lost some, 2 losses to baby arizimendi, lost to some unknowns on the way up. went on to avenge losses to the babe but also beat hall of famers midget wolgast, juan zurita, frankie klick, and benny bass

in a 3 year span from 1937 to 1940 he went 50 fights with one loss most were kos across 3 divisions only losing to Lou Ambers, whom he also beat, hall of famers barney ross, chalky wright, pedro montanez, cefereino garcia

after losing the title he was still a contender beat zivic in a non title affair, willie joyce one of the best 135 lbers of the era, sammy angott and tippy larkin

if you never watched or studied armstrong do so before you trash the man, i dont even think youve heard of many of his opponents or seen their fights.....barney ross p4p is one of the best ever and Armstong absolutely battered him, So was ambers at 135.
                  Mayweather stopping Armstrong.

                  I’ve heard it all now.

man had almost 2 hundred fights, got stopped 2 times, his first fight and over 100 fights in against the much larger Fritzie Zivic, whom who went on to defeat without the title, he was past prime. buzzsaws dont last long but he still went on to beat hall of famers after losing the title

at his best, Floyd is not stopping Armstrong....they guy fought welters and guys over the limit weighing 135 and didnt get stopped smh
