He has a real argument because no one has ever achieved what he has done , they haven’t and it’s probably a record that will be beaten and he also gets the nod for longevity as well.
Not saying he is but he has a claim to it for sureComment

this thread is tragic and classic example of fan boyismFACT: if there were 7 welterweight titles available back in the day... like there is now... you have NO IDEA how many GREAT fighters from the past would have picked up titles along the way...
so stop using wankery from the current era to blow smoke up your guys ass
it is only possible to compare across era's using identical criteria
WHO did you beat... with consideration given to when/how
which is the only criteria that historians use... they do not give a damn about espy's and twitter followers lol
they will also consider losses, but to a lesser degree
top 3? how sway?
he wasnt even the best of his own era so how is it even a debate
sam langford won no titles but beat hall of famers and world champions from 135 lbs to heavyweight so them using " 8 belts doe" as the reasoning is weak af
really cant argue him being top 3 considering the greats of the past and who they beat and when
the man never even beat juan manuel marquez decisively in 4 tries

Pacquaio's a top 10 ATG but if he beats Crawford or Spence this year, he's top 5. (It's looking like that's not going to happen cuz of the Covid virus putting a halt to boxing events)
Here's my top 3 ATG:
1. Roberto Duran
2. Sugar Ray Leonard
3. Tommy HearnsLast edited by HandsofIron; 04-24-2020, 09:52 AM.Comment

Now you going to try to insult me. Still your analogy of the fight doesn't make sense. Pac cash cow, Margo had the villain role. Easy fight to sell that didn't need a title that neither deserve. The sanctioning body saw that money that they would make so they gave it the green light.Comment

Understandable, but give the guy credit for coming from 108 to 150, that's pretty incredible in itself. How can I talk boxing with someone who doesn’t even know what they’re talking about? Why are you even speaking on pacquiao’s tank on an all time list when you admit to not even seeing his fights? You shouldn’t even be offering your opinion here because it’s unqualified.
Tbis is why the whole “8 division champ.....” hype means little to nothing to me. You’re giving him credit for being a champ at 54 on the strength of beating that piece of sht margarita in a 150lb catch weight fight for a vacant title that he didn’t even bother defending. This thread is a joke.Comment
