I hear what you're saying but what would the W word be? White? That's not racist at all in itself. Obviously you can use it in a derogatory sense in a sentence but maybe whitey or even ******* would be more suitable. Still, neither have the negative historical significance of the N word.

That is exactly what I am saying. I was trying to be facitious about the W word that would be White Boy, Whitey is another one... I worked as a kid, including in High School. This was in Baltimore and my supervisor was a Black guy who called me...Whitey. Lol. It never bothered me, he was my buddy, and I would dust his butt on the Basketball court... My point here would be exactly what you said. It just was not percieved by me as insulting, he was being an @33 the way kids who call each other "F@ggots are being.

I once had a fellow high school teacher who wanted to suspend a kid for using the term f@ggot. The kids had been horsing around, and this teacher heard the word and wanted to make a big deal out of it. I finally told the teacher "I know you are gay and all... but kids have been calling each other "f@g" for a long time now...and it was never meant to insult, it was kids, being kids.

I make such a big deal out of this because I hate when we use language to censor and harm people... Young people when horsing around use certain words... And again, I agree with your post.

I wasn't offended either but that's because the majority of black folks see things that way and I'm already used to it and have grown thick skin to it long ago. That doesn't change the fact that the shoe could not be on the other foot and not ruin a white fighters career. Look at the discrimination against the POTUS FFS! And he has never even said anything racist.

I know when I was younger and hanging with a rough crowd, we used to say things like "don't *** me out of money". It may be seen as racist to people of hebrew decent but we just used it to mean cheap and I know a lot of people are proud of being cheap even if the way we used the term *** could be offensive to ***ish people. We also used to call each other "crac_ker as_s_holes" "indian givers", etc but no one was offended and one of the guys we hung out with was of Native descent. We used to always take digs at each other like that. To the wrong person, with the wrong intention I could see how such things could be seen as racist but it all depends on the context.
