His best win is close decision vs an old GGG.

SRL is the only one I would pick to beat him and thats based on his style and reach. I think he gets to hearns chin, hes too slick for hagler and hes too big for duran.

SRL and Hagler definitely beat him. Leonard beats him wide on points, Hagler possibly forces a late stoppage.

I’d pick Hearns to outpoint him but Canelo could feasibly catch and stop him like Barkley did.

Just due to the massive size advantage I think Canelo would likely beat Duran by decision.

Prime Hagler batters him, Canelo doesn’t have anywhere near the activity or stamina to hang with a prime Hagler. Canelo gives him a few problems for maybe 6 rounds but then Hagler takes over for either a wide UD or a late stoppage... IMO.

That’s what I’d assume also. The flash and offensive style of SRL would get sum stroke in any close round. Shoeshines at the end of rounds. But if ur just talking money and negotiating, maybe neither would be as “big” if they both had to coexist. Nelo always has that mexi fan base factor. Still I think the split would be close. I mean who knows.

This is a great point. And for whatever reason people DO put Fab 4 on a pedestal where even suggesting a current fighter could compete is like an insult.

Floyd and Manny would hold their own versus ANY WELTERWEIGHT at ANY TIME in history. ANY.

I'm not saying Floyd or Manny are the best WWs ever, but they are both in the category of ATG and both are Top 25 fighters EVER.

Both Floyd and Manny would beat some fellow ATGs and lose some. They were both that good

...back on topic...it is feasible Canelo goes 1-3 or 2-2 against Fab 4. Really struggle to see him beat a physical ox like Hagler and I think SRL had too many wrinkles to his game for Canelo (like the Floyd fight)

General principle I always work on is there's no actual objective reason to believe elites from any era wouldn't be competitve against elites from any other era - at least allowing for the changes there's been in the sport.... lotta nostalgia in boxing and it's almost like folk consider past greats as if they were superhuman.
