You mean he is a better boxer. To me Baldomir is a more dangerous opponent. You can't beat the best boxer in the game at boxing. Baldomir won't be the slightest bit deterred by Floyd's punches and will continually pressure him like Jose Luis Castillo did (albeit with less skill). If you blow on Cory Spinks' jaw it might break. Floyd actually could KO Spinks at 154 that is how suspect Spinks' chin is.

Mayweather will roll over Spinks. Dumb move if Mayweather goes through with it. He should fight at least 2 more times at 147 and beat credible opponents: Baldomir, Mosley, or Margarito.

Then he can move to 154 and fight Spinks and De La Hoya.

etc). He may have come up a little short, but only due to a headbutt. If you watched the fight you can't honestly say that Margarito wasn't coming on to most likely win the fight (probably by KO). Spinks got KTFO by Zab Judah who Mayweather just beat. Spinks couldn't KO Zab Judah if he had a broken jaw. He runs around the ring like Jesse Owens that is garbage. Futhermore why move up to 154 when you're not the champ at 147 and the champ wants to fight you? Especially considering that

margarito wasn't the champ when he moved up. and he's not the champ now. baldy is.

Floyd's probably just thinking since he's already in southpaw mode, he should just go ahead and do this. 3 southpaws in a row by the way.

I'm not bashing Floyd for fighting Spinks. I'm actually favoring Cory to win the fight. WATCH.

But I think the anger is coming from Floyd not fighting the best in the division AGAIN. And either way, you can't completely badmouth someone and say he's not worthy to fight, then pass on an 8 million dollar fight with him. The highest purse of PBF's career.

Sorry he held a title when he moved up and he holds a title now... that better. Anyway you consider it this is a really crappy fight.

Because no decent opponent at 147 wanted to fight him (Mosley, Judah, Mayorga etc). He may have come up a little short, but only due to a headbutt. Especially considering that you jumped from 140 to 147 without becoming the recognized champion (yes I know Hatton didn't want to fight but I can only excuse jumping divisions like that 1 time). So if you can follow that then you understand why this is garbage.
**** the headbutt the point is he didn't win a 154 and that's where he should be at the least. guys like you are trying your best to build this guy up by saying bull**** HE IS NOT A BIG NAME CASUAL FANS DON'T KNOW HE IS and as soon as floyd gets in there and embarrases his slow ass you guys will forget all about him. i can say one thing you let these guys get to you and jumped ship fast, good job

No, I mean the better opponent.
I give Baldy all credit for what he has done but I think it's premature to think he can hang with PBF.

He beat a flaky Zab Judah who had him completely at bay for 7 rounds.
Joshua Clottey had the man beat but was DQ'd for low blows in the 11th or 12th.

He's too slow of an aggressor to challenge Floyd. Now Margarito on the other hand, is just the aggressor that Floyd does not want.

The casual boxing fan is very fickle and suffers from short-term memory when it comes to boxers. Vitali Klitschko could have been on top of the world a few years ago, but ask a casual fan about him and many of them won't even remember his name.

Sure, maybe Corey Spinks has achieved things in his career worth mentioning, but if you can't point out something spectacular he has done recently many casual fans won't remember him. Baldomir would have generated more current interest.

Fine... by that token then Spinks is unworthy because he couldn't defend his title for more than 1 defense. Margarito has made 6 defenses... so what. Spinks won the title at 154 and I can't take that away from him but it was one of the least inspiring performances I've ever seen (running in the 12th round?). I was more encouraged by Margarito in his loss to Santos than I was by Spinks in beating Karmazin. Karmazin looked like he was totally out of it and he shook Spinks' legs with the only hard punch he landed the whole fight (round 2 check it out).
