My mom loved watching him fight because she was raised in TJ. I wanted to root for the guy and when the incident with the wraps came out it was just hard for me to do so. I never followed him enough to be able to make my own judgments. If he is at peace with his life and his past then there is nothing really to say.

Margarito is an overachiever so he can only be proud. He earned his stripes the hard way and he wasnt supposed to beat Cotto. But he scored that epic upset and secured millions of dollars.

He can give haters the middle finger and ride off into the sunset. He has to have a million dollars minimum if he didnt splurge so much...

Um it was Pacquiao who broke his face, was never quite the same after that. Cotto in the rematch benefited greatly from the damage Pac did to him.

True, Pac broke his face, but Mosely was the first to stop him and really beat him up. Three hard fights where he took his worst beatings almost one after the other

Margarito have history we don't like, but at the same time I don't wish him to suffer. I applaud he retire of the fight game after those 3 final fights. More fights and he was going to suffer more permanent damage.
