Charles Martin won a heavyweight title.
Joseph Parker won a heavyweight title.
Buster Douglas won a heavyweight title.
Andy Ruiz won a heavyweight title.
Bermane Stiverne won a heavyweight title.
Bruce Seldon won a heavyweight title.
Frank Bruno won a heavyweight title.
Trevor Berbick won a heavyweight title.
Siarhei Liakhovich won a heavyweight title.

And we won't even get into the WBA Regular mess.

I think the lack of size is overblown. Not any smaller than say Povetkin, and likely bigger. Against Fury he will look small and have issues, but I give him a shot against anyone else. Wilder is a tall guy but isn't big or going to physically impose his will so Usyk certainly could win that fight. And then against Joshua, he's going to have land some clean crisp shots early on to make Joshua hesitant, and if he does, then he can win that fight as well. Usyk is a fairly slow starter but once he turns it on he is a problem. I like his chances more than most at HW I guess.

Not sure what to make this thread tbh . I don't think usyk is some flashy marvel of athleticism HOWEVER he is far from a falt footed fighter with no movement. Usyk is a great boxer and while not maybe roy jones via the old eye ball test this man is a supreme technician. At heavyweight he will be next level IF he can withstand the Size differnce/ power . Do I think usyk is unbeatable at heavy ?? No . Not even sure he would be unbeatable at his prime weight. But I do agree olek is an inbetween as far as size . But he has been competing with much larger men since he was a young man. I know amateurs doesnt always translate to heavy but at the very least we have seen he wont be bulldozed and overwhelmed vs the giants . I mean it could happen but he has already proven he wont be any top heavyweights crash test dummy . I personally think usyk will beat chisora very convincingly ,and I would pick him to beat wilder unless he got pole axed , but iam.not 100% sure he takes out fury or josh.

Iam all for usyk moving up while cruiserweight is a criminally underrated division historically it was absolutely stacked when usyk took it over , regardless of what anyone has stated previously in this thread . I wont be picking usyk to beat fury or joshua but if michael hunter can move up and have success in the top 10 ( pov win or lose he proved he can **** with the big boys) then I think usyk will make some noise . Iam not saying he will be undisputed but to call him some over rated immobile sucker isnt what iam about to do . Usyk has a good chance to make some good money ,make some real good fights, and possibly pick up a title along the way,iam all for it . Usyk is a great fighter and anyone who would say less will be eating crow at some point . At the very least he will prove himself to be a viable HW contender who has great ring iq and movement especially at heavy .

I'd say Michael hunter is a top 20 heavyweight no ??and he is one of usyks more overlooked victories at CW.

Hunter, yes, I'd have him around 15, but here's the thing, I think he learned from the Usyk fight and has improved. I think he'd be the best CW in the world if he went back down now. He gave Usyk a much tougher fight than Gassiev (who many thought was number 2) did as well.

Tbf Martin didnt really win; dude he was facing blew his knee out in like the 3rd round.

What a windfall for Charles, though; that paper strap propelled him into what I heard was like a 10 million USD payday against Joshua

THese guys are too casual, they dont know what theyre actually watching.

                  Moves does not equal footwork
hands up does not equal defense
Hasnt been koed yet does not equal durable
lots of pointless twitchy stuff does not equal good reflexes
jabs and has boxer style does not equal mobile and high ring iq

Most of his fans are his fans because of a reason that sadly has nothing to do with boxing.
Dude has solid fundamentals and some of the best distance management I've seen.

Why are most people fans of him??

Ukrainians to prop up superiority over Russian backed partisans in the Crimea? Lol I think I know what you're hinting at but I've seen no evidence.

He's a skillful boxer who unified a very deep ( at least at the top) CW division. Now wants to make a run at HW. Has a great personality with humor that is rare from a lot of boxers. What's not to like?

Most of them never even saw any of those amateur fights.

And if you are actually a fan because of that stuff then thats great, because Usyk is getting put in a casket and will enjoy watching reactions.

Thats not why they like him. Most of these “fans” barely even knew who the f**k he was. They look up wikipedia for his amateur accomplishments without seeing his fights.

                      No evidence?
