Watching Usyk fights, and no way he wins a title at HW

People are simple. They like simple stuff.
Things are more complicated.
THese guys are too casual, they dont know what theyre actually watching.
Moves does not equal footwork
hands up does not equal defense
Hasnt been koed yet does not equal durable
lots of pointless twitchy stuff does not equal good reflexes
jabs and has boxer style does not equal mobile and high ring iq
Most of his fans are his fans because of a reason that sadly has nothing to do with boxing.Comment

He thoroughly defeated Michael hunter who just drew with Povetkin at HW. I know styles make fights and you can't necessarily extrapolate success therefrom, but I think it's an indication he has the capability to be successful at HW.
He does a lot of subtle things like distance management that casuals can't really detect or understand
His body positioning, dexterity, and balance enable him to always be in position offensively or defensively. Which he transitions between both very well.
I think size-wise, he is fine at around 6'3" 225ish.
I definitely don't see him out boxing Fury who is currently the man at HW.. But I'd give him 50/50 chance to win one of the titles in the next 3 years or so against a Joshua, Wilder, Whyte or Ruiz.Comment

I’d like to him get windmilled, and i don’t even like wilder.
Usyk acts like he’s the total darkhorse and everyone in the top 3 is in for some punishment. I say let’s get it on.
I’d be rooting to any of the top 5 to beat him. Personally i hope he fights wilder first so we in for some bronzebum highlights.Comment

Povetkin is 40 years old man and has never been an elite HW...He thoroughly defeated Michael hunter who just drew with Povetkin at HW. I know styles make fights and you can't necessarily extrapolate success therefrom, but I think it's an indication he has the capability to be successful at HW.

Can't fault that, I say props to the guy for trying at least... there's probably not a bigger leap in all of the sport and few make it successfully.
Best of luck to the guy - I'm thinking Delboi should have given us a pretty good idea what kinda shot he's got if any... but now I guess we gotta wait out this COVID ish... on which note I hope you and yours stay safe over the coming weeks, Larry. Looks like it's gonna be a rough ride coming.Comment
