What made you fall in love with boxing?

Funny, cos I regard boxing more like that super hot bitch who treats you like shit most of the time, teases you, strings you along and doesn't call for months on end, but when she decides to put out it's so... damn... good, that you keep going back for more.

Watching Mike Tyson as a kid, my brother training the sport, and watching Italian boxing on television late 90s, early 2000s.Comment

LMAO.Spinks - light heavyweight
Holmes - came back from 2 yrs hiatus and fought on 1month notice. And he was past his prime.
Berbick - Not better than Takam.
Ruddock - overrated head hunter and career contender
Frank Bruno - big stiff robot that freezes once he gets hit. Dubois right now is a much more complete Bruno.
The 80s was a very weak era in the heavyweight division.
Now compare
Wlad - ATG
Povetkin - far better than Spinks as a heavyweight
Parker - better than Berbick in every department
Dillian Whyte - better Jamaican boxer than Ruddock
Ruiz - would beat Bruno with one eye closed.
Larry Holmes is a top 5 HW ever and was 3 years younger at 38 when Tyson demolished him, went on to fight another 12 years with wins over Ray Mercer & other decent fighters , while pushing Holyfield and other great fighters.
Vlad was 41 and knocked AJ down and almost beat him before the fight was stopped prematurely
The rest of those guys were nowhere near as good as Tyson's list are you high?
The guy beat virtually the entire top 10 Ring contenders list from the year he became champ.
Spinks by himself ended the 2nd longest heavyweight title reign in history and is in the IBHOF. Are you serious?
Exactly, this dude is talking like Andy Ruiz, Dillian Whyte, and Joseph Parker were better than fxcking Razor Ruddock and Frank Bruno.
Holmes was 38 and went on to fight another decade and challenge & beat top heavyweights in the '90s.spinks was a light heavyweight , Holmes was 44 , Berbick never had a win against a prime top 10 heavyweight , Briggs was soundly beaten by Lennox Lewis and easier and went life and death with ruddock who again was destroyed by Lewis when facing him.
I like Tyson as a fighter and character but his record when broken down is very weak except for the age he did it.
Tyson lost to every prime P4P heavyweight he went up against that’s the facts
Biggs lost to Tyson & Lennox, who are both a lot better than fxcking AJ
He lost to prime p4p heavyweights when he was past his prime himself or compromised in some capacity.
HE fought Holyfield 10 years after he became champion and after being in prison for 3 years.
He fought Lewis 15 years after he became champion.
Both of those guys don't want it with '87/'88 Tyson.Comment

look let’s get one thing ****in straight , Tyson reign although impressive was a very weak for challengers , he avoided Lewis and paid him step aside money , he was out boxed by Mitch Tillis , took the distance by Mitch green , rocked by tony tucker and completely and utterly destroyed by buster douglas. In every department , what’s your next excuse ohh yeah king ****ed Tyson over ? No Tyson ****ed himself over and had more money and blown more money than possible , so **** with your analoy that Tyson was god , he wasn’t and was always going to lose to someone with a brain who could move and box and could take his shots. ....Douglas , Holyfield and Lewis proved thatLMAO.

Joshua careers career is far from over and let’s see what he achieves before he bows out this sport but one thing to
Guarantee is that he won’t being getting knocked out by Danny Williams.

I used to be a MMA guy during the prime Pride-UFC days.
But Floyd. Oscar, and Manny got me into boxing, plus my Uncle was a boxer.Comment

I always loved watching a fight get so much hype, only for a boxer to enter the ring with no intentions of fighting his opponent and instead runs and clinched. To me, that is the most exciting part of boxing. The clinching & ducking/avoidance of combat.Comment

With your logic, Ali's overrated because he was rocked & knocked down by Henry Cooper. He was also in the minds of lots of people beaten by Doug Jones. I guess he can't be the GOAT anymore, huh?look let’s get one thing ****in straight , Tyson reign although impressive was a very weak for challengers , he avoided Lewis and paid him step aside money , he was out boxed by Mitch Tillis , took the distance by Mitch green , rocked by tony tucker and completely and utterly destroyed by buster douglas. Joe Louis lost virtually every round to Billy Conn, a light heavyweight before KOin him. He can't be the GOAT either, right?
And AJ's already lost to a fat slob like Andy Ruiz, who's never beaten anybody IN HIS PRIME, how do you know who he'll be losing to at 40 years old? He barely beat Vlad, who was 41, after getting completely schooled by Tyson Fury. He was rocked by Dillian Whyte in their fight as well.
And I never brought up Don King, whatsoever, so that's a strawman argument
As for Douglass, you know what Tyson was doing the night before that fight? Getting high & ****ing Japanese skanks with Bobby Brown.

Fact is, Douglas is the only guy to beat or come close to beating a prime Mike Tyson (pre-prison).
Holyfield, Lewis, and Williams feasted on the carcass of Mike Tyson.Comment

Came in backward through history and science....hence why I always relate **** to something historical or scientific.
Here's the thing, I don't really give a **** if you lot properly understand the real weight of Rocky Marciano's punch pure from a human feat stand point. If you reckon Foreman or some such hit harder, cool bud, don't let that distract you from the fact that this particular 185lbers more than doubled, damn near triples, the power of a 9mm at the muzzle. 925ft-lbs is a ****load of ****in torque to be behind a fist. It's a goddamn marvel of kinematic chaining and energy transfer.
Historically speaking, today in history classes teachers have made the line "Hollywood cowboys are fantasy" cliche and loads of people now believe the ******** dens and barroom brawls were fantasy as well. Well, cowboys didn't do that so much but boxers sure as **** did. For like over a hundred years the HW champion was also a guy who cleared pubs and rubbed shoulders with criminals. They're interesting stories.
Because boxing is innately scientific with rich and deep history to back it.Comment
