What made you fall in love with boxing?

To me, it was watching those Mike Tyson highlights as a kid. The guy was just too ferocious and powerful in knocking out grown men. He was the greatest show on earth. And I would mimic his style.

I remember hearing about him biting someone's ear off and I thought it must have been a lie. Not the invincible Iron Mike Tyson - the greatest show on earth. Then he got knocked out by Lennox Lewis.

However, as I grew older and started boxing and understanding the sport - it dawned on me that the invincible Mike Tyson just looked great against cream puffs and he was not as great as advertised. Regardless, he'll always be my favourite boxer of all time because he made me fall in love with the sport.

All the fit, topless men, trying to physically dominate each other over 12 sweaty rounds. What's not to love

Gatti vs Ward 1 sparked my interest.

Also, first PPV I ordered was Morales vs Pacquiao 1 and after that the rest was history.

It was like that for me with Prince Naseem Hamed, I thought because he was knocking everyone out and considered himself unbeatable that he was the hardest man on the planet. I was very young then though. looking back he was very good, but not great, and never top 10 p4p in his time for me, maybe top 20/30

As an adult, cotto vs margarito 1. I was a big boxing fan as a kid but my early adulthood I started losing interest. This fight was beautiful in it’s brutality. Too bad Marg’s next fight would cast a shadow over this fight. Still an all time classic and I watch it again every few years

LMAO. I forgot Prince Naseem Hamed. He was one of my favourite boxers as a kid. His highlight were like poetry in motion and I never believed anyone could beat him. But Barrera changed that and I never looked at him the same after that.

Highlights of boxers beating up cream puffs can get impressionable people who don't know much about the sport. And I think that's why a guy like Wilder has been able to build a fan base of idiots. But once you understand the sport more and can grade boxers based on what they do against great opponents, you'd be able to see boxers for what they're, hence I don't fall for hype train and propaganda anymore. A boxer is just as good as the level of opponents he beats, regardless of how vulnerable he looks in doing it.

My dad would take me to watch the Chavez fights in the early 90's to relatives houses. Then I'd catch a De La Hoya fight here or there, but what hooked me was Barrera/Morales 1.

                  LMAO.

Spinks, Holmes, Berbick, Biggs, Ruddock, and even Frank Bruno weren't cream puffs.

He just made them look that way.

                  As I've showed you before.

He practically beat the entire top Ring 10 of the year he became champ.

Now compare that to your man crush AJ

                    Spinks - light heavyweight
Holmes - came back from 2 yrs hiatus and fought on 1month notice. And he was past his prime.
Berbick - Not better than Takam.
Ruddock - overrated head hunter and career contender
Frank Bruno - big stiff robot that freezes once he gets hit. Dubois right now is a much more complete Bruno.

The 80s was a very weak era in the heavyweight division.

                    Now compare

                    Wlad - ATG
Povetkin - far better than Spinks as a heavyweight
Parker - better than Berbick in every department
Dillian Whyte - better Jamaican boxer than Ruddock
Ruiz - would beat Bruno with one eye closed.
