What ranking did they put Price at?

You can’t be serious. Ruiz was chosen as a last minute replacement for a reason. He was a huge underdog for a reason.
If Al thought he had a realistic shot he would never have given up all the leverage for a rematch. When has Haymon ever given up that kind of control?
He didn’t have a fight for Ruiz lined up so he gave him a big payday thinking taking an L to AJ wouldn’t hurt him as much as the exposure would help him.
You would be hard pressed to find any pundits or boxing experts that picked Ruiz to win for a reason.

I don't recall, I think it was top 5 or something like that. I don't even think he was ranked prior to the eliminator, he had just gotten KO'd by Christian Hammer, sat inactive for ten months before beating a 4-11 Kamil Sokolowski on points.

Then they threw him into a final ****ing eliminator against Alex Povetkin.

I am serious. Myself and quite a few others had picked Ruiz. Anyone who had followed his career instead of just looking at him with his shirt off knew he had a chance except for the people who thought Joshua was this insane, unbeatable talent.

The fact is it was the wrong decision to not take the fight. Haymon being his manager supposed to do what's best for Kownacki. He did not.
Keith Connelly is actually kownackis manager but I agree ,they should have taken the josh fight but hindsight is 20/20 . They were gonna feed him fights like helenius until he got his shot at wilder , I think like most they figured he wouldnt lose to a guy like this but it was clealry possible after watching him go to war with a shot arreola . And either way if the path they were paving worked out he wouldnt have made 6 mill for wilder unless they grossly over paid him

Yeah....a fight with unification and defenses.
I can't say same of others.

Just like Ortiz right ? He was told not to take the AJ fight to and he went after his own team who kept him in the dark at first and told AJ they declined his 7 million offer or whatever it was ? Something doesn’t seem right imop ?

So yeah that is different then, purposely ranking a boxer just so another "Hyped" boxer can fight him and use that to justify the fight is what they did with Kownacki and Helenius.

They purposely place Helenius at number 6 in November in the WBA rankings, when he had NOT beaten anyone to justify that rankings, the only justification there was to make Kownacki picking him look good.

So much did you put on Ruiz winning since you were able to foresee one of the biggest upsets in boxing history?
Every big fight people spout off on the boards that each fighter is going to win.
Much different when you have a skin in the game. 0% chance Al Haymon would have agreed to those rematch terms if he thought Ruiz had any shot. We know this by them trying to play games once the rematch was a reality.
