Ruiz is is no shape to fight right now. He doesn't even have a trainer. I don't blame him for turning down the fight.

So what? He's still much more relevant and more accomplished than Arreola. Heavyweights can still compete on a high level well into their late 30's and early 40's. If you don't understand that, you are a total moron who needs to find another sport.

What makes Whyte think that Ruiz would be up for anything other than drowning his sorrows in some burritos, cokes and counseling sessions - to restore some type of dignity.

Hopefully Whyte isnt/wasnt coward & delusional enough to fool himself into thinking this is some type of Roberto Duran scenerio in which Ray Leonard intentionally planned the rematch (right away) to catch Roberto out of shape. Roberto at least didnt look out of shape for the rematch....

Ruiz' body on the other hand can hold four Robertos two Leonards and was not in any way shape or form - ready any time soon enough for a fight with Whyte.
Whyte was flabby in his last fight so what's the difference?? It's not like Ruiz got KO'd by Joshua, he lost a clear points decision. Furthermore, his loss to Joshua was his second loss (even if his first to Parker was highly questionable) so there shouldn't be some huge mental hurdle to overcome.

Run? Yeah ok. It's called boxing and it was the correct gameplan. Just coming off your first loss and being KO'd at that, rematching Ruiz immediately when everybody said it was a mistake and being able to maintain your focus and win a decision was impressive. Of course you AJ and UK haters will criticize Joshua for whatever he does.

Are you really that ****** or are you just trying to push your ridiculous agenda? The Saudis put up the highest bid for the rights to put off the fight. It wasn't Hearn who pushed for Saudi. He wanted it in the UK. Furthermore, Ruiz is Mexican American and comes from a hotter area than AJ does. The BS in your comments is full force. Some of you posters are pathetic, looking for any excuse possible to justify Ruiz losing.

In reality, he has an average KO% and it's less than Tyson Fury's who he claims can't punch for s***
Whyte knocked out Chisora who has a great chin with one punch. That shows he's a pretty big puncher. And KO% isn't a perfect indicator of how hard of a puncher you are. Nonito Donaire who had the knockout of the year twice only has a 65% KO percentage and nobody would ever say he isn't a hard puncher.

Hell no is he fighting Kownacki. I'm not a big Kownacki fan, I think he's mostly hype but he's still too legit for Ruiz to fight him next. He already said he's looking for a tune up. Expect someone on the level of Molina, Arreola or maybe even Joey Abell.

So, I didn't see Andy beat the dog shift out of AJ and chase him out of America? I didn't hear AJ say the rematch would be in N.Y.? I didn't see a 22 foot ring in the stix where everybody on the card flagged, so AJ could Jerrymander a decision? I need my eyes checked, I guess.

Where Ruiz comes from has nothing to do with it. He's fat, and AJ slimmed down, took it to the desert and got a race track to fight in. Ridiculous is when your boy gets run out of town, pulls a trick in the stix, and that's supposed to makes him great again.
