Ruiz has already stated he doesn’t want a tough fight next. He wants a tune-up.

For those that thought it was Whyte that didn’t want the fight.

Ok fine but Whyte , how many fights have you refused
Like his statement that a champion needs to fight anywhere
To bad he was never a champion

I actually thought it was Whyte they didn’t want the fight at first, until I heard Ruiz himself coming out with a lame excuse a day later, then I knew he doesn’t want a tough fight right away, which was cool, but why pretend like the other team didn’t offer you a great deal? He turned down 5m dollars to fight Whyte in America. SMH

I didn't think Ruiz wanted that fight at the moment and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that decision. Andy needs to get his mind and body right and also needs to develop a rapport with whatever new trainer he goes with. A ftraining camp and fight against a relatively durable journeyman (such as Arreola) would be ideal.

Sounds like he wants an easier touch after his loss. I can understand that if it's his mindset at present, as Whyte is a tough fight.
